Some of the new achievement chests will give you a box of PVP equipment as part of the reward.

Why in the world would it give me stuff I can not even use? When I open the box, I get six (believe it was six) pieces of exotic skins for use in PVP.

At least half of the pieces are items I can not use with my class and they were soulbound.

Is there no way to ensure you get equipment you can use, like they do for the profession boxes bought with laurels?

Just seems silly to give me items that I have no other choice but to destroy because I can not use them and they are soulbound so I can not transfer to an ALT.

You can click ‘deposit collectibles’ and they will go to your PvP locker, and become account-bound. =)

No need to destroy them.

You can apparently store them in a “PvP Locker”, and then any of your other characters can draw them out. I just clicked on them and selected the option to store them as collectibles. I think that’s where they went when I did that.

and it really works well. you’ll love it when you roll another class, and you have the variety of pieces to choose from. If you’re completely sure you never would, you can salvage them and make the pieces u want…

Go to Heart of the Mists – the place where you go to get a free teleport to LA… Take a right and there is a PvP Locker. Inside you while see all of your sPvP armor/weapon skins.

What can I with these? Great question!

You can wear them in sPvP matches and tournaments! Think of it as another look to go for! If you get multiples, you can grab a PvP salvage kit from your ranks glory vendor and decon those suckers into PvP Materials which are usable in the sPvP Mystic Forge!

But wait there’s more!!

You can preview ALL skins, even if you haven’t unlocked them! Very helpful when you can’t decide which shoulders look better or if that greatsword skin makes you look scary enough!

Side note: Some of the skins you are getting from your PvP Chests – were once ONLY found in Tournaments!!! Think of them as super rare skins that you have to win a tourney to get!

Wait a minute.. even though it says soulbound, once it is deposited into the locker it becomes essentially account bound?

I did not know this, and this is great. As you can tell, I haven’t really PvP much.

Thanks for the tip everyone. Clears up that issue. Just not really sure why they have the soulbound trait applied to them.

i love the pvp locker so much that i wish there were not stats on pve gear too so we could have a pve locker too…
i so want a pve locker, would be so beautiful to collect all these nice skins

I got one as well and I have retired from PvP 2 MMOs ago.

I deleted them.

At least I got a gold out it

Even if you never PvP, there are some places in the game that use your PvP armor.

Mostly mini-games. For example the race in the current living story uses your PvP armor.

You can use the deposit all option instead of depositing them individually.

i did the same thing with some equipment, but it says it is “account bound” the only options that i have when i right click (nothing happens when i double click) is to Preview or Destroy… what should i do?

This has happened with several pieces for me too. I can deposit some items, but I have two armor pieces and a weapon that are pvp items, that I can’t do anything with. I can’t deposit them, I can’t wear them in pvp, I can only destroy or preview them (deposit collectible is greyed out, they cannot be equipped in Pvp realm either). It is kind of an annoying reward, because to get pvp salvage kits, you have to pvp. I absolutely loathe pvp, I only enjoy arenas like WvW, so it’s all getting destroyed, which seems an unfortunate waste.

you really should bother to do enough spvp to get kits ><" breaking them down to x parts and mfing said parts for dye = some profit something you never use.

If you already have a copy of the item in the PvP chest, you will not be able to deposit it a second time.
