Hello

Just a very simple question and I certainly don’t intend it to be inflammatory or cynical. Not sure if this is the right place to post either but:

Will achievement chest loot ever be changed in the future? I’ve not opened any of my chests yet, and I am worried that loot might be stealth nerfed in the future without warning.

That’s all.

Thanks very much for your time

I don’t think the loot from the range of chests most people have attained so far will be changed, though rewards from chests past 25,000 AP might be different.

Just curious, why are postponing opening your chests?

You never know…

I’m with inculpatus, why not open the chests?

He/she might be waiting for the right character. While the rewards may be account bound, everyone has a “favorite” and he/she may not have found his/hers yet.

There should be no reason not to open them, and there shouldn’t be any “stealth nerfs” to AP chests because nothing in them is game-breaking, and to my knowledge, none of it is saleable, so it shouln’t hurt the economy (such as it is) so go ahead… open them…or not… your choice.

Am I right in thinking that you get quite a lot of stuff? I’m a bit of a hoarder so I need to clear out space for the contents lol. Otherwise I’d have to destroy most of the contents of the chest.

This is my own problem and I should deffo open them that’s for sure. If there were ever a nerf, I’d blame myself. However, I’m still a tad curious

Ahh….storage, often a problem. You can look up the contents of each chest on the wiki if you are curious.

Thanks
Kinda why I was curious as to whether the contents would possibly be reduced/nerfed in the future

You’re right though, I’ll aim to open them asap.

not much from the achievement chests take up much room. mystic forge stones, perhaps, but that’s just 1 space.
badges of honor have a space in the wallet
zenith weapons you can destroy, as you can get more copies whenever you want. same for radiant/hellfire
karma potions can be consumed
boosters will either stack with the ones you already have, or just use them immediately because you like using them.
blueprints can be sold
pvp skins can be deposited. rest would need to be stored. or just dont open that chest, but then require storing. this is the only one that’s a bit troublesome. personally, I just deposit them, then salvage the ones that don’t deposit because I already have one of it.

This is good advice. Except I hang onto my blueprints.

Don’t forget all the Gem Store items. Merchant Express, Bank Express, Box o’ Fun, etc.

Well box of fun you can use immediately. There’s no reason to save it. The other stuff, bank express, trading post express. that’s useful stuff. I always keep that in my inventory. You know, you’re in a dungeon one day and you forgot to sell. So you call up your merchant and let everyone sell.

It does you no good if it’s still in your chest.

Another time someone wanted potions for a hard encounter and on one had bought any…so I opened up a trading post express and purchased some off the auction house. Useful things those.

I’ve found with these chests that the contents usually fit three categories, as far as my hoarding behaviors were concerned:

1.) I hit “deposit collectables” and they vanish, or else go into the wallet directly. I really wish I’d known you could salvage extra PvP skins though, I’ve just been throwing out doubles.

2.) I just move it over to the existing bank stack that I’m already hoarding.

3.) It’s a consumable that I actually like to USE (or sell, in the case of PvP blueprints) instead of stockpiling against some imagined future need. Inventory needs are therefore short-term.

Unless you are planning on making The Moot or Quip.

Holy smokes…I had no idea you needed those, since I don’t plan on making either, I never looked.

Nice catch!

Thanks for the advice guys!

In a few weeks time, I’m sure I’ll be back to my messy hoarding ways though :P
