Q:
Achievement Points--> Laurels
A:
Per Colin Johanson: ’Laurels are only earned through daily and monthly achievements (starting with the feb monthly) and will not reward for previous daily/monthly achievements completed since folks didn’t know this system was coming.
We will however introduce an expanded/new reward system in the future that will reward for other types of achievements, this system will reward previous achievement points earned. (But may require bringing back into line some infinitely repeatable achievements that would bloat/break this system)’

I’ve heard people say they would, but I distinctly remember that they wouldn’t be rewarding laurels retroactively.
They want to reward achievement points, but at the release of laurels they hadn’t decided on a balanced way to do so; the end result might be a reward other than laurels.
We haven’t heard much since.
I hope they make laurels easier to get or make ascended items easier. This system is bad enough for people who only play one toon. For those with alts who want to get ascended jewelry, it’s punishing. You need 180 laurels for just one toon. That’s 4.5 months, if you get a laurel every day and get the monthly. And if you don’t spend the laurels on any other items.

Guild missions and fractals, of course, are also available. Even if you don’t like fractals, guild missions are definitely another way to get them. Getting rings in Fractals is pretty easy, and the loot drops are some of the best in the game.

Guild missions, are, unfortunately, not really available for everyone – only for a relatively small minority of the players.
Remember, remember, 15th of November

My guild is smallish. We are still accumulating the influence needed to unlock. I’ve done about 4 fractal runs. Not really a dungeon person and neither is my guild. And I have a slow, laggy computer. The game freezes and kicks me out periodically which makes higher content difficult. So it’s possible that I might get these items, but not positive. I’m pinning my plans on the laurels.
Guild missions are available to anyone who wants to do them. Many servers have public guild missions. You rep a guild for the time you need to do the mission and then you never rep it again. It’s like a temporary invite just to do the content.
Entire small guilds take advantage of this. My own guild has taken smaller guilds along on guild missions just so they can get that content.
I don’t see how this content is locked off from people, unless they simply refuse to do what they need to to get the content. Repping another guild for an hour twice a week isn’t all that hard.

Guess I’m never standing in the right spot for that. Never seen a guild talking about this in chat so far. This may be more in some servers than others. Is there a certain spot where these guilds advertise they are taking on help?

I’ve ocassionally seen them on forums, and I’ve seen them in Lion’s Arch too. And in some zones where those missions are. My guild does missions the same time every week. If you guys want to tag along just for rewards, you can do so, without staying or doing anything else. Rep for the missions, and rep your own guild the rest of the time.
I’m on the Tarnished Coast server btw…not sure what happens if you guest over for them or not.

Kk. Thanks.

please….
Fotm loot is the worst in the game actually :|
Ring are easy to get at least but only from a certain PoV
If you consider how much time you are required to get to lvl 9 then add 10 daily runs to get a ring of your choice (unless you are really lucky) it is really a lot for new players….
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
