Seeing how so many new maps focused on organized group content opened up, people are bound to be more spread out between all the maps. It is probably expected that some of the events that used to have alot of people in the past will now have fewer, especially lesser known events that rely on people who just happen to be there and who actually want to do the event. But some achievements seem to be gated behind having a large enough number of people doing obscure events, Dry Top for instance. Maybe some of these achievements need changes to keep up with the times huh

I can’t think of any events in DT that require a lot of people. Yes, there are some that require you to reach T4 but that’s relatively easy nowadays and I often end up on that tier when I hop onto the map for whatever reasons.

Most HoT meta event chains can be done solo or at the very least with a small group. There will be a point where you probably can’t solo the rest of a chain such as when there’s a champ.

Rather than them nerfing events to be easier to be done solo, I’s prefer they provide more incentive for players to do them. Precursor crafting requiring geodes and badges is one such example.

OP: you’d have to be specific about which events you think need tweaking. In almost all cases, there are two likely scenarios:

  • Success depends on knowing the mechanics: 50 people are just more likely to complete it, since there’s a better chance that enough folks know how it works.
  • Success depends on large-scale coordination, in which case, if you’re on a ‘feeder’ map, you’d need to taxi to an organized one.

Dry Top has both situations:

  • To reach T4 and beyond, you have to be on a map in which 30+ people are willing to spend the effort to get there.
  • Two specific events (skritt thieves at the camp and the researcher escort) require only a few people that understand the core mechanics (and explain to others who just show up).

3 words, Evolved Jungle Wurm! This event is long past needing a change. There’s 3 mastery points associated with this event alone, yet pretty much since it’s introduction people have shied away from the event and now, you scramble to even get enough people to run 1 head, that may not be the one you need. Unless you’re on a scheduled guild run, which many people don’t even know about and those that do still don’t even bother because let’s face it, it’s not really a success unless all heads die and even a scheduled run doesn’t guarantee full sucess.

I’m against this being nerfed. It’s the only map-wide event left that requires a little effort and coordination to complete.

I was under the impression there are at least 2 or 3 groups of players who organise Triple Wurm events several times a day.

I often see them advertising it when I’m in Bloodtide Coast (EU servers) and I’ve seen it mentioned on the forum too.

i finished off my dry top achievements the other day while i was getting geodes for a precursor journey and getting sand, they are all achieveable. Not only that, out of probably 10 sandstorms I went through only 1 didn’t make it to t4 and that was because it was overflow, (id assume it was from a map that probably did make it to t4).

There are so many things that make people go back to dry top plus some people just enjoy it. No need to nerf it at all.

Re: the triple trouble I was one of those people who shied away from doing it because of how hard I heard it was but over the last 2 weeks I completed all the related achievements because I needed the mastery points. Not every attempt succeeded but it didnt seem like it was a needs to be nerfed moment.

The skritt thief camp requires people to actually be there when the event starts, and a decent number of people as well. The achievement fails as soon as any skritt walks back to the hole with the supply, and it is a short walk and there are many skritt thieves. The event itself is doable with a few people, but the achievement needs many to be around and willing to do. At this point in time, I would say the people who care to do have done it, and those who do not care are either in HoT or doing something else

Just curious: do you run this every day?

The only reason I ask, and I’m not being snarky here, is that perhaps you are arguing against nerfing content that you don’t even do, and now is a LOT more difficult for the vast majority of players.

I’m not SAYING it should or shouldn’t be nerfed. I’m specifically asking you to express why what you’re saying has any weight – specifically if you don’t do the content daily.

Only one i’m having serious trouble with is Hearts and minds. Need people for that, but nobody on lfg, or DS map is interested in the achievement. (I would love to complete my viper build with the amulet rewarded for doing this).

Cool – thanks for taking my question the right way.

Also curious – did your map complete the entire meta?

That follow up is specifically intended as to understand whether or not the OP’s point has any merit (at least, from my perspective).

I don’t know why are people running all over the place in this thread, I specifically meant the Skritt Thieves camp achievement event in Dry Top lol. I never meant it as there aren’t enough people as thing; it’s different from Evolved Jungle Worm if you looked at it in a holistic way.

There are people playing this game, it’s just different for skritt thieves, and only skritt thieves. True that the jungle worm needs map wide coordination and EVOS is fantastic for organizing it. But you can’t compare a solo, small obscure event with negligible rewards to a world boss.

When we go for T6 in DT, we normally have 2-3 people doing that event. It gets more difficult when there’s more people as the skritt scale up and take longer to kill.

There’s a guild called Sands that does organized Dry Top runs. Just join up and run it with them, get your achievements, have some fun. Get some T6 maps too.

Yes well, but more people sometimes means more cc’s and other stuff they bring to the table. It’s like how mobs in Chak Gerent will overrun a team of 5 but a team of 10 can handle the mobs, from my observations in the past anyway

You don’t need more people than that though. It can comfortably be done with 2-3 players. Having CC isn’t even required. Besides, having more people doesn’t necessarily mean more CC’s. Just look at Vinetooth Prime.
