At the moment adding achievements to be tracked / in the watch list overrides any of the dailies from displaying. Just wondering is there any way of getting around this?

As often I would like to add a few achievements to track so each time I log in they are on the list to remind me I’m still in the middle of them, but normally I don’t bother adding any to track as I find it too annoying losing the dailies from my screen.

I know it’s not a major thing, and I can just check stuff under the achievement panel anyway, but I can’t see why we have to sacrifice one list for the other, can’t tracked achievements just display below the dailies list?

Short story: no.

My work around: when I logon, I manually select the 3+ dailies I want to complete, before choosing the logon reward.

This achieves the same effect, without waiting for ANet to figure out how to update the UI to offer an option.

If they do ever change it I hope they make it possible to choose.

I track achievements specifically to hide the dailies. There’s often enough junk in that list that it fills the entire side of the screen anyway, even without a long list of achievements added to it. So I keep just 1 long-running achievement tracked to minimise it down to 2 lines (because apparently it needs a heading to tell you it’s an achievement). It’d be really annoying for me if they made it impossible to hide the dailies.

Although my ideal would be to customise the entire list. I’d like Anet to add a tab to the Hero panel that lists everything that could appear on the right side of the screen with check boxes that let us show and hide it.

So if you’re never going to do your personal story on that character you can hide it. If you’re in Silverwastes but you don’t care about the meta-event chain you could hide the UI for that. If you don’t want to see any achievements you can hide them all…and so on.

If you want to get something back or quickly check all your options you can look at that tab. And of course anything new will default to being shown, it’d only be hidden if you did it manually.

But I suspect that’s a lot of work to get around something Anet probably don’t see as a problem, since they designed the system the way it is now.

I track Achievements and Dailies. You can, I believe, track up to 12 (maybe it’s 10) that show on the UI. I then move them around in the order I want them to display. Are you tracking more than 12 (10) non-Dailies?

Thanks for the replies, those are workarounds I guess. It’s just though both can be tracked, that means manually having to add the dailies each time I login if I’ve already got other achievements tracked.

It’s not just the core dailies, but if I go to a LS map it’s nice to see the dailies there, but again if I have another achievement tracked then it means having to add them or check through the achievement panel each time rather than just seeing them at a glance when I arrive in the map.

Again not a big issue I know, but I think it would just be a nice QoL thing if tracked achievements could go in a separate UI list below rather than replacing the daily list. But I agree if it’s not a straightforward thing to do then time and resources would be better prioritized elsewhere.

I think it would be a good thing if you could (optionally!) choose to have dailies always displayed regardless of tracking specific achievements. I personally track achievements because I dispise dailies in games and only complete them by accident most of the time. For me it’s convenient being able to hide the dailies with a single tracked achievement. On top of quality of life such as this I think the achievement interface could use some touch-ups in general, especially as some categories are starting to become longer and longer lists.

I agree in principle that the UI for tracking achievements should be updated (it’s gotten to be really clunky). I just don’t see it happening any time soon.
