So, when I was leveling and learning how to not a be a newbie back in the early days of the game, karma seemed to come to me in waves. With karma consumables + karma boosters, I found myself with more karma than I’d ever need for my future legendary.

However, since they nerfed karma consumables, I haven’t had a need to go out of my way to earn karma, I rarely even think about it. But my friend who has been playing GW2 for around a month seems to have a shallow pocket when it comes to karma.

What are the efficient ways of making karma in 2014? He won’t do WvW so don’t mention EotM because I know that is currently the most efficient karma farm.

Is there more ways than EotM and event farming (with a booster on)?

What other ways are there to get karma? Afaik it’s events and hearts only. If he doesn’t want to do EotM then it’s PvE event farming (with a booster on).

If he wants to farm events, Frostgorge normally has a champ train running and they are all events that gain you karma. The new Dry Top area has a lot of events at the moment with people calling them out. Cursed shore had people doing events the last time I was there. Find a commander tag to locate a zerg then party up to get the maximum benefit. The big meta events pop every 15 minutes. Those can be farmed for karma, exp and loot. I think Fractals awards a lot of Karma, if you are doing levels lower than your Fractal-level…or something like that.

currently the most karma gain in short amount of time is Fractals. Averaging 10k per run.

average run 45 min to an hour.

beyond that, Yes you can run EoTM, but its hit and miss if there is actually a group on the map. and it still slow going, its just easy.

running amok in the world and just gooffing around nets me around 100k a week or so. Dry Top and Orr are good places to go with all the event chains and things to do.

1. Events are a good way to earn karma, especially with a karma booster/banner on. These days I usually get plenty in EotM, but doing Orr chains, world boss chains etc. should also work.

2. Activities are also a great way to earn karma. You get 1000 for a win, and 600 for a loss. Since activities these days tend to be largely deserted, it’s possible to get 1000 karma every 5 – 6 mins if you’re the only one in there.

3. The Tequatl fight, if you can get into an organised map, is also a superb way to get karma. You get 14k karma for a successful kill, not counting the karma from the multiple group events you’ll do in the process too.

4. If you do Fractals, doing underlevelled Fractals is also a good way to get karma. However, success will largely depend on the skill of your group, which can be unreliable if you don’t have friends or a guild that do Fractals regularly.

If he is still not level 80, i would suggest to use Bowls of Candy Corn Ice Cream.
Its a bit pricy but its the only food that not only gives +5% Karma gain but also +15% exp for every kill.
