From what ive read it says,

Item drops from the daily bonus reward chest following completion of Solid Ocean Fractal at tier 10 and greater of Fractals of the Mists.

daily bonus reward chest, this is talking about strickly the chest for doing the solid ocean frac, at lvl 10, 12 , 14 ect, right?

Its not talking about the daily acheivement reward chest in the hero panal from killing 10 this, gathering 10 that, 1 event, ect.?

So what happens is that the Jade Maw dies and there’s a chest, then right as you get the option to leave, you’ll see a chest in the lower righthand corner appear, that’s the daily chest with a chance at dropping a ring.

I sincerely hope they become Mystic Forge items or some such. RNG for things like this is such an outdated system. Why is it that I can drop either dozens of gold coins or thousands of Relics into making an ascended back piece (not to mention infusions), yet I have to brainlessly hope for some random chance if I want a ring? It doesn’t make any sense.

Don’t even get me started on how it’s yet another gamble to get the ring your build uses in terms of stats. I’ve found two rings in I-don’t-know-how-many runs. Both of them are useless for all of my characters.

I am sure they will find a way to acquire this stuff in other ways. It just doesn’t make sense to force players into one mode of play. I believe developers agree as well. That’s why I don’t even farm Fractals-I find PvE Orr more fun, regardless of what’s being said in the forums (and KNOWING that the loot is far, far poorer, because I have more fun in the world, rather than doing Fractals/Dungeons.) I did enjoy my little stint into the Fractals, but I don’t find farming them “fun” by any stretch of the imagination-meeting random players on the PvE open world and cooperating with each other on random events is more my cup of tea (though I have a “limited like” of Dungeons; they do need some rebalancing, however, IMHO.) This is why I rather do not farm Fractals over and over, and will just wait until they figure out the Ascended gear system in a much balanced/logical/“accessible to all types of players” way.

Who has gotten one? What are the chances that they drop?

They do. Unfortunately, even though they admitted that they made a serious mistake in locking out ascended eq to one game mode (as well as making them way too grindy to get), it’s apparently not serious enough to warrant actually doing anything about it. Fixing it in half a year from now is simply not an option they should even consider. They should either address that now (preferably by yesterday), or just admit that they don’t really consider it a mistake and their AMA answers were meant only to delay the problem in hope the community will stop asking about it.
