Action Camera suggestions
There are also still some skills that are treated differently depending on whether action camera is enabled or not.
Specifically, skills that teleport you to a target (e.g. sword #2 on thief, phase traversal on revenant) can be used at any range (even if the target is further than away than the range of the skill) when action camera is turned off. When used, these skills will teleport you towards the target up to the maximum range of the skill. However, if action camera is turned on, these skills cannot be used when you are out of range.
This means, for example, that on Revenant if I want to use phase traversal to travel towards a target more than 1200 units away, I need to disable action camera first.
Astaxanthas (Revenant), Hepaticus (Engineer), Eosinophus (Thief)
Action cam should also be tweaked so that projectiles still auto-track when a targeted enemy is out of range. That is the current behavior when not using action cam. So for example Rangers can pew pew well past 1500 range with their traited Longbow with Action cam disabled, but with it turned on they are locked in to 1500 unless they can somehow miraculously manually aim.
I also have a few changes to Action Cam:
1. STOP RESETTING TO DEFAULT CAMERA POSITION! I hate the default Action Cam camera position (It leaves me looking down far too much), and as someone who loves to swap between action and normal controls in-combat (Action for melee, normal for ranged)
2. Allow me to bind Skill 4 to Right-click during action-camera use, just as skill 1 is bound to Left Click.
I also have an issue with travel skills, especially teleports (Guardian’s Judge’s intervention and Sword 2, and Warrior GS5 most notably). Action cam tends to leave my Guardian standing in place when I want to teleport to a target (Either because the target’s out of range, or just too off-center: see my camera complaint above), though I enjoy being able to use GS5 on my warrior to disengage with Action Cam (Very useful in the Silverwaste’s Pac-man segment)
2. Allow me to bind Skill X to Right-click during action-camera use, just as skill 1 is bound to Left Click.

I agree with these 100%. If you’re going to implement action cam, let’s keep iterating on it while we have it.
Action Camera is an afterthought for GW2, and a pretty basic and lame answer to something called Combat Mode. I have always tried to post about the one thing Anet could incorporate into AC fairly simply since AC launched, and I finally see someone else getting somewhat close to it here.
LET US CHOOSE WHAT THE MOUSE BUTTONS DO!!!
Two special binds, that must correspond to other binds or they do nothing but fire the key placed in them. This would allow any one bindable action to be placed on each button, simple, customizable, and I consider AC broken until implemented.
Also better cursors, the white dot is a pain to see in the Shiverpeaks. Colored/dyeable? or even the negative color of what it is over.
If anyone reading this is sick of waiting for any improvements to AC and would like to know more about why it even made it into the game, send me an in-game mail and we can talk on TS.
