Please pardon me for the relative ‘noob’ ness of this question, but….

I have avoided the Action Cam like the plague, I do not like the POV it uses. But trying to finish a few of the challenges requires the use of it or knowledge of how to work around it. So I have a few questions…

#1. For Events like the Shooting Gallery in Verdant Brink, when I use the Action Cam the dot representing the aiming sights all too frequently gets blocked by my toons head / head armor so I can not see what I am aiming at. Is this a know bug or is there a work around for this? My primary toon is an Asura.
#2. If I disable the Action Cam in a challenge such as the Shooting Gallery how does the weapon aim? I can not target any of the ‘target dummies’ and the weapon just kind of fires in to the ground.

Any help would be appreciated….

Use the first person camera for the shooting gallery. The camera is going to be lower to the ground on an asura, so unless you want to use a different character, you’ll need to learn to deal with it. Once you get used to it, it really doesn’t matter. Zoom out the minimap 1 tick to so you can see the entire area since the dummies will be displayed on it.

With or without the action camera, aiming is the same. You’ve always been able to manually aim like you can with the action camera by holding the right mouse button and moving the camera. The shooting gallery was specifically design for the action camera, so manually aiming is required.

In options menu there are scrolls for moving the camera left/right and up/down. As someone who always plays with action camera and now cannot stand not having it (makes getting to menus annoying cuz I gotta hotkey one open), I have my camera angled to the side of my character a bit.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

You can toggle off the “use character height” option for your camera, that should raise it a bit. You can also tell it to use a higher vertical offset.

I’d share action camera use tips if I had any, but since I cannot mouse-move while action camera is active I tend not to use it. Odd, since I can W-move in ESO (which also uses an aiming reticule) and Sky Saga just fine and use my HEX side buttons for strafing/backpeddling, yet for some reason I can’t make myself do that in GW2.
