Action camera
It got me back into the game. Haven’t tried going back to tab targeting.
I use it all the time. The only problem is, that there are still some skills that are bugged in action cam. Instead of firing at the selected target or the cross hair, they just fire straight into the ground.
Recently I made a role play build as a golemancer and the no3 skill (the one where the golem shoots projectiles from both fists) is one of the bugged skills. It’s so annoying that I always have to leave action cam before using it…
I use it all the time.
My main complaint it that targeting doesn’t lock so it’s easy to lose target, especially if there’s a lot of mobs close together but otherwise I really like it.
ANet may give it to you.

If I remember correctly, the action cam used to lock on the first target you’d select. Switching targets was only possible by pressing tab. This was changed because it was too strict and you’d end up not attacking anything at all if your selected target was too far away or behind you. Also there was the bug that the game wouldn’t select the next target after the first one died unless you press tab.
I like the new, dynamic target switching better. Though I guess that’s a matter of personal preference.
Oh, I’ve been wondering where to find this option!
I’d like to try this5feauture but I cant find it.
Can anyone show me where it is?
It’s under ‘Camera’ in ‘Control’ Options.

Good luck.
For Action camera you go to Options -> Control Options -> Camera, there you must select a Key that you want to use for “toggle Action cam”, when you now press the Key (for me it is Strg + ß) you will Switch between Action cam and tab targeting mode (everytime you log in you are in Tab Targeting Mode, but pressing the Key and you are in Action cam mode as Long as you dont log out or pressing the Key again).
Edit: Inculpatus cedo was a little bit faster…well anyway:
Have fun. ^^

only use it in open world PvE

You can also set a hot key to toggle the camera on|off. I found it incredibly useful during Halloween for farming the Labyrinth (a spot that is practically designed for dynamic retargeting). It’s also good for certain builds that emphasize positioning rather than targeting (e.g. some no-target thief builds).

Anything involving frequent movement is not that great either.
Then there is trying to attack things above you although that is mostly a WvW problem.
I love Action Camera, but wish I could change the ‘center’ to 66%-75% up the screen, instead of having it at 50%.
I also wish either Nearest Target or Next Target would target the closest enemy to the dot (with Next Target cycling from there, resetting every few seconds). The dynamic targetting in this game sucks.

I don’t think there is any other way to set it up. The Wiki has a good explanation/guide to the Action Camera option (now). =)
I use it as a toggle-on to hit stuff in wvw that is otherwise obstructed.
I’ve been using it since before it was actually a thing. Combat Mode made GW2 a lot more fun and the addition of Action Cam was great.
I never use it. I’m too used to the original way. It feels bizarre to me.
It needs work like most other halllf asssssseddd features anet adds to the game while ignoring our feedback. My biggest complaint is that you can’t stay locked on a target once you turn your crosshair too far left or right. Maybe they’ve never played Ocarina of Time? This style was perfected over 19 years ago. It’s not that hard of a concept to grasp. But then again, we’re dealing with anet here.
i am using it.
needed to rebind the key to be able to use it smoothly.
a lot more easier if you have gaming mouse with lots of button.
Archeage = Farmville with PK

You can stay locked on – I believe Right-click is, by default, the button to target lock – but you can’t continue to attack if you’re not looking in their general direction if there’s another target where you’re looking.
What drives me nuts is that the target lock likes to break a lot on oversized world bosses that shift around a lot like Tequatl and Shatterer.
