Hey everyone! I’m super hyped about the new mounts in PoF, so I thought it would be cool for everyone to put down their ideas for different mounts and their abilities.

One of the ones I thought of was a spider that could crawl on walls or up mountains

Hoverboard so I can surf the dune waves.

Carried a bunch of Skritt, who will gather all the shinys and bring them back to me.

A dolayk with a jet pack. Scarlet designed one, after all, just look at her secret lair under the Priory.

A large desert fox looking mount that can do short phase shifts, even through certain types of terrain.

A panther that can temporarily turn you and it invisible to pass through enemies

Since we’re stuck with mounts, I want my Charr mount for my Asura.

In WP post show he did mention that something like that was one additional mount they started (spider anyways), but scrapped it because the other people working there didn’t like it/creeped them out.
Would love for a spider mount myself though…

Hover boots / hoverboard / something that hovers with minimal physical appearance.

A replacement for a Springer. When you charge it to jump, the character bobs up and down while the Skritt chant “Heave, Ho!” until they launch you into the air.

Hm, replacements for other mounts:

Hoverboard instead of the Skimmer.
Charr motorbike instead of a Raptor. It’ll have a name like Raptor-CX4 and for its boosted jump, it pops a mid-air wheelie.

The Rainbow Phoenix as a Skin for the Skimmer

A big sabre cat that is a Skin for either the Raptor or the Springer.

Aurene. Probably story instance only but it would still be amazing.

Also I’d love to see a griffon as an alternative skin for the bunny. Instead of jumping it could look like it’s flying you up the cliff (or whatever).

Some great and funny ideas here! The litter carried by skritt and sloth are amazing. If the studio abandoned wall crawling spider mounts because some designers were squeemish……..

The llama, doesn’t have any special movement abilities but can discuss economics.
Two coconut halves, special attack transforms target’s first attack into a flesh wound.
The Catacatapult, a catapult on a cat……it does….I don’t know…I guess it would be up to the cat.

I would liked for the mount to be even more “physical” and less “gamey”. What I really like about what they currently showed is that you have a turn radius and an acceleration/deceleration. But I would have loved if they had gone all the way with that. Mounts having different gaits with different speed with a higher turn radius at higher speed.
I’m still waiting for a another game that did mounts controls as well as red dead redemption. I know this is an mmo, but a man can dream.

Charr buggy (they have warmachines that look like cars so why not.) Sand digger? goes onderground for a period of time or racing mode = even more speed
Norn mount for asura. (norn can carry an asura) Specialty: Throw asura.

They are but acquiring them appears to be outside the mastery. You either earn them through the story or by simply interacting with them.

Oh so each mount isn’t its own mastery? You just learn riding once and then go get whatever mount you want, like gliding?

How about the griffon and spider that were scrapped for starters?

I really had my heart set on that Griffon mount from the leaks. Would much rather have that for my jumps than that jacked-up rabbitoid.

Actually, I would have preferred one mastery line for all the movement skills and have the different varieties of mounts be entirely cosmetic.

We need a girlfriend mount

I’ve taken some liberties with the beast design.
It gets two ability sets depending on day or night.
During the day one head has glowing red eyes, and during night the other head’s eyes glow blue instead.

Day abilities are fire/ice based.
It can do a flaming dash that burns enemies to start combat.
It can create an ice wall that lasts 10 seconds. The ice wall can block projectiles and you can dismount and jump unto the ice wall to use as a stepping stone.

Night Abilities are Wind/Earth
It gets a super speed dash that is channeled and goes so freaking fast it is very hard to steer.
It can turn both you and it to stone for 10 seconds, blocking projectiles and protecting you from damage.

I think if additional mounts are implemented they will act as a skin ‘covering’ one of the pre existing mount types since they’re all tied to masteries.

So for example a horse skin might replace the Raptor mount – because they leap.
Giant bat skin might replace the ‘skimmer?’ mount cause of gliding.
Rocket boost Golem mount skin might replace the Springer.

I’m sure they’ll have just about everything as a mount one day.

Here’s hoping they’ll produce a mount skin that mimics its owner. I.e. our toons get to ride giant versions of themselves. ;D

Definitely want a feline of some kind.

A go-kart powered by my own sense of self satisfaction.

A horse/dolyak drawn cart multiseater mount would be pretty cool for group events and stuff. Maybe have the engage attack be a volley of arrows or something.

I always wanted one of those Worgen caravan mounts in wow.

Pretty sure we will get a multi-seater at some point though, possibly with a mastery.

Other than that?

I would love a snake mount though I’m not sure what it’s movement ability would be. A giant Cobra! Possibly faster than the other mounts with a sprint ability?

Some mount with a stealth ability might be nice as well.

And last but not least, obviously a huge Charr tank. I mean, who wouldn’t one? A giant Charr tank rolling through the desert?

There’s so many directions they could go though.

Bog otter has said that a spider mount was in the work but was cut because it was too creepy for arachnophobes,

My Asura need Charr mounts. Maybe some extra-curricular running and transporting will burn off some of that excess anger those warcats have. :^)

The masteries enhance a particular mount but I didn’t see any indication that any of them were required to use them. We’ll find out next weekend I guess.

This is so random idea but…

- Spider Mount for jumper type (But instead of jump, she shoot web above, like the Oakheart’s Reach mechanic)

- Piggyback or Princess Lift Kasmeer for the blink type

Something Asura themed please. Maybe golems or something holographic from SAB. I’d love to match my SAB weapons and glider skins…

A Trump mount with the occasional phrase “Make GW2 great again”.

Oooh, fancy mounts!

• A spider mount, its unique ability is that it can scale walls.
• A gecko mount, able to run over water.
• A chameleon mount, taking on the texture you’re standing on when you stand still, making you non-aggro to mobs while you don’t move and don’t attack.
• Asuran golem-mount, able to teleport 2000 distance in a, well, random direction. :P
