ArenaNet explained their strategy of “gifting” the base game to players who have bought HoT, but have not yet played GW2, with the argumentation, that the “veteran” players have not payed for playing this game, but for playing this game 3 years earlier than everybody else. They have payed for the experience all the players coming new with HoT have missed out on.

I think it would only be fair if the same argumentation would apply to gemstore skins. Players are not paying to have those skins exclusively, but to have them prior to everyone else.

For heaven’s sake. Give the expansion price/old game in it issue a rest and not bring it up with silly comparisons. It’s been months and thoroughly hashed out in multiple threads. If you can’t give it a rest then post in the old thread.

Whatever they said back then is irrelevant now, because the base game is now free even if you don’t buy HoT.

Your comparison with skins is just another case of apples and oranges.

Sorry but paying £30 or $ or w/e for hundreds of hours of gameplay is not overpriced. If you don’t want to pay then don’t pay. Not our problem. You are paying to pay the game. If you really don’t want to pay for it then wait a few years until the next expansion is released then you won’t have to pay…or pay $50 to access it…

We don’t need bonuses for buying the game we spend hundreds/thousands of hours in, especially “free skins”. If everyone is given a skin then it’s completely devalued and is not special anymore since everyone has it.

If you like the game buy it. If you don’t then don’t buy it. Simple as that, end of story.

Where are the old threads? Burried under hundrets of pages?
And why silly comparison? ArenaNet gave an argument for why they would release something that has cost money before for free.
I just want them to apply that argument to more than just the game itself.

Oh, it’s more relevant than ever. The game is now for free. They advocated this decision with the argument that you have payed for playing the game earlier than everbody else, not for the right to play it.
I just want them to apply the same argument to the skins aswell.
