What does this exactly does and is it helpful?

I turned it on and off all I understood from it was that the camera went like 1 cm higher when you turned it on, that was it.

It will depend on your chosen vertical offset and whether you are an Asura or not. As I keep my camera zoomed out and raised, I find I can get better “selfies” if I shrink my FoV and toggle off the char height and first person options when taking the pic. I definitely get a dramatic change in the camera height when toggling character height view.

The dramatic change, like what does it do? Does it make it come in closer to the Azura’s height or does it raises up the camera so you can see everything like if you were human/charr ?

It’s hard for me to describe. But here are my camera settings from shortly after the new camera was introduced, if you want to duplicate those and then toggle the height match on and off. As you can see I tell it to lower the camera when near my character (Vertical Position Near) and raise it on zoom out (Far).

I put my camera a little bit over and a step to the side of my toon, to get an “over the shoulder” view. keeping the center clean allows me to know better what I’m doing, specially when ding jumping puzzles or in battles where you need to maintain line of sight to a mobile target.
