Yes it’s a sad tale that i still have some achievements i need to get for the TA Aether Path.

The issue is that it seems that people don’t bother with this path as it’s quite difficult. I understand there are a few elitest out there who like the harder content… But sadly it’s gotten to a point where I cannot even find a party in LFG and any time you mention it people say “HELL NO! It’s just too kitten long winded and hard, with an unsubstantial reward at the end” so very few bother.

I’d like to suggest a Tiny nerf to make it a little bit easier so that people at least run the path again… either that or make the rewards worth the time invested.

I’d just like to see this path used a bit more often like the other dungeons, it’s just an added bonus that I could then find a team to go with and get those achievements that keep glaring at me, calling me a loser! lol

No. The rewards in Aether path are fine, just a little RNG based (like everything else).
For example: Xanthium (staff that only drops in Aether path) sells for 700g (at least when I picked it up a few weeks ago)

So how about get a group and learn how to play better?

Like i said… Finding a group who want to actually do it is like finding a chicken tooth. To then ask that group to do the path repeatedly… You must be off your rocker!

Just looked it 900g now with just 7 available… Which when you compare that to the Bifrost which has 17 available on the TP… Just proves that no-one does the Aetherpath, otherwise there would be a lot more Xanthium on the TP.

Just play it today for first time.

This path is pretty long but pretty much fine when people know how to do it.
//got 1 ragequit people though.

But reward is meh … and artherblade hidden chest gave me really disappoint reward//except AP.

Path doesnt need a nerf, but the chance for the special exotic weapons at the end should be buffed.
Also you should look up what achievement means. Nerfing the difficulty to your convenience would be a slap in the face to all people who played the current aetherpath.

i am against any change to the one glorious dungeon path that actually is really fun. i run it every now and then with my guild and it’s one of the last instances of gw2-pve that you can’t run through completely braindead. i wish there was a lot more content like this in the game.
don’t you dare take that away from me you filthy casuals!

edit: sure, rewards could be a tad better but in the end i don’t really care about that.

How hard do you try to find the group.

A while ago, I used to do it everyday just through LFG. I’ll be surprised that much change in such a short time.

It’s probably your timezone. For NA server, around right now is probably the hardest time to find group. Since Australians are sleeping and NA people havn’t gotten home yet.

Aetherpath Cutscenes should be skippable.

Rewards should be improved too. More gold and tokens from the end chest is my suggestion. Low drp rate of rares shoud not be tinkered with.

Sorry, OP, we’ve been asking for this in the dungeon forums since the path came out. The dungeons in this game are such a low priority to ArenaNet that general consensus among those who frequent them is that it’s a waste of time to make suggestions.

Wish it weren’t so. They’re well aware that the path flopped, but they’re just using that as a justification to ignore dungeons, rather than tweaking the “new” path to address the issues. (hmm…can we still call it new at this point?)

We’d be thrilled to see the dungeons get some love, but it’s just not realistic.

I’ve learned how this path work while puging and watching videos. I have made all achievements for TA with pugs. After I’ve been done, I’ve made several LFG groups with pugs and explained everything in detail (basicly carried the group) and did most achievements we could for them. (This was several months after the living story patch which introduced the path, so not many people were doing it anymore)

It’s really a L2P issue and you having the time and dedication to do it.

But I certainly favor a change of the reward in this path to promote more people in doing it.

Just to clear up any misunderstandings of me being a “casual” the reason I wanted this path more active is that there are 2-3 more achievements i need from this path and then I’ve pretty much completed all achievements… bar the one’s i outright refuse to farm (like weapon master) as I will get them at some point without even trying.

Naturally, of course. I don’t want the path to be nerfed to the point where you can just waltz through without any danger of dying. Hence why in my OP is said “Tiny nerf”. I suggested it purely on the basis of getting others interested. Trust me, if it were solo-able I would have done so. The issue was I find it very difficult to find a group and as it has been stated, you need to be there at the right time to find a PUG.

Anyway, it seems that the general opinion is that the rewards should be better to get people interested. I’d be happy with that!

it would be really sad if Anet did nothing to increase the popularity of this path as it is actually a really fun and challenging path to do, just a shame it’s so hard to find a group to do it with (when compared to all the other dungeons).

Oh and since it is not done much, zerk-ing through it can be difficult.
It’s a lot like arah path 4. My best runs through it were when the new people were not in zerk and only the people who have done it tons of times were in zerk. New people in full zerk on these paths tend to just be dead weight.

Yop, I prefer to come as a 0/0/6/6/2 guardian with soldier than zerker meta, as people don’t know the path very much, the mobs hit harder / are harder to predict.

I think one major thing they could do is make the oozes at the fire part allies.

That’s the only part I consistently don’t like about the path, and it makes it difficult to pug.

I would very much disagree. I’d rather see dungeons made harder across the board, as open world content already provides “easy” PvE content.

People don’t do this path for one, and ONLY one reason:
Noob uncoordinated team can’t get the oozz part done. Period.
If they make oozz a slight bit easier (Make the time gap after inserting one oozz 1 minute instead of 30 secs, less adds), people will do it for sure.

did you try to just open lfg make a post and keep it up for like 30 minutes?

dont’ expect it to fill fast. but might work if you are persistent.

I’m surprise no one joined, because usually at least a bunch of clueless new guys will join the dungeon not knowing what it is.

It’s the same story with something like Triple Head Worm. It doesn’t need a nerf, because those more skilled players need harder/coordinated content to enjoy. I have no issue with that. But, yes the reward structures are poor for these events. If ppl are going to invest the time in the content they need a return for that. Fun and challenge alone only stretches so far.

It will also bring a wider audience into it. It’s one of the issues I have with metrics on these things – people don’t play them because there is little incentive to do so, not because they unpopular as a piece of content in itself.

True. But this was a case of a group of guildies who had done the path a couple of times before and knew what to do if they got the pheromone (which everyone does at some point because the pheromone gets placed at players even if someone is going to the plant). So, he basically was just running back and forth (and often getting downed) for no reason. :\

The only problem I have with Aetherpath is the time investment required isn’t rewarded in any significant manner. If the guaranteed rewards were buffed to reflect that it’s not the same as running a mindless CoF, then I think it’s likely this path would see more players.

he’s not wrong. there is a plant which gives pheromone. If the group is clueless it’s a good idea that some experienced person just grab the pheromone every time in case that random person dont’ know what to do.

Except I don’t believe that the buff is exclusive so you can run the risk of multiple people having it causing the ooze to ping pong between the players.

Is anyone from EU? Someone meant to tell me they can’t find a group by putting up a LFG and sit it for a while? (15-30 minutes)?

and about the dungeon, quite honestly, you just need a few people that know the dungeon. I just did the dungeon, and for the ooze gear part, we 3 manned it while telling other 2 people to stay out. And the last boss, 2 guys duo it super fast, while 3 of us spend almost the entire fight dead on the ground.

The drop rate on skins in there is worse than fractals. 0 drops in I believe 45 runs. This is with everyone having the keys for the 5 chests at the end even.

Pretty much only ran now if a guild mate needs the meta done. Which can be done in one go if 2-3 of the group knows the zone/fights and you tithed to the mystic toilet recently. Voice chat helps too.

I belive you can only get the skins from big chest at the end not the hidden ones… when i did ap run for those you dident even get blue or greens from those chests.
