I know in a lot of MMO’s after you attain the level cap, all of your exp. that you would normally get from quests and kills is then turned into a small amount of gold. A pay check if you will.
Since I have not reached 80 yet, I don’t know the answer to this question, anyone noticed ?

Your exp bar keeps moving towards the next level. When your exp bar reaches full and you would normally get your next level, you get a skill point and the bar resets. As I understand it there are some items that you can buy for hundreds of skill points.

thats how it was in Guild Wars 1…You dont level past the max level but you get skill points. You can then use skill points for special items and what not.

Do you still get a trait point as well past 80 ?

No, you are capped at 70 trait points.

Additional skill points earned are needed for Mystic Forge items. If you plan to craft a legendary weapon for instance I heard you’ll need several hundred skill points. There’s an NPC next to the Mystic Forge that has items to trade for skill points. Most of those items relate to certain recipes used at the Mystic Forge.

Thanks for that reply! I was wondering this myself… also trying to figure out how to get all the necessary skill points for the legendaries… and now I know how!
