Right, so I went AFK in an area with enemies which were around level 10.

When I came back to my computer I saw my character stood naked being attacked by a mob. I quickly ran away and got to an armour repair merchant,

I don’t have a CLUE why this happened, any ideas?

It’s something to do with armour breaking, all my armour was either broke or damaged after this

You were revived and died multiple times.

I’m going to make an assumption here, you parked your character in an area where after you went AFK, an event took place. You were in a bad spot and you got killed. People who came to the event noticed and revived you. You died again. You got revived again. Because you weren’t getting yourself out to safety you kept dying and getting revived over and over, breaking all your gear.

if you AFK in a dangerous area, you can die. and there are also those who think it is funny to rezz someone over and over again. that’s what happened I would imagine.

Most likely you were mobbed, defeated (thus, a piece of armour was damaged) and then revived by another player. When your armour breaks, I believe itautomatically unequips itself and stays in your inventory until you repair it.

It means you were attacked, defeated and revived enough times that all your armor broke.

It’s possibly the one downside to the fact that anyone can revive anyone for free. Some people have started checking whether you’re afk before reviving to stop it happening, but most don’t.

Although I’d say ultimately the best approach is to avoid going afk in dangerous areas if you can. If you might be away for a while (ie. doorbell/phone rings) maybe shut the game down and come back to it instead.

Once I notice someone has gone afk near mobs that will kill them I like to stick around reviving until a few pieces break.

Well, someone that afks in a dangerous place is asking to get some death penalty :o

Besides, it might not even be done on purpose. If you afk long enough, the passing by players will rez you one after the other, and you’ll end up naked. It only takes 14 deaths to get all naked.

I never revive naked players, they’re usually bots. I saw a good 20+ naked bots all dead in the same area once. Reported them. If I find an area with a lot of bots in it, I usually see if I can drag some large mobs or bosses to them.

Maybe dont go AFK in a vulnerable spot again hmmm

I rez every dead player I come across. If they’re not afk they thank me, if they are it’s free xp.

Don’t go afk where enemies wander.

I’ve done it a few times (rezzing someone standing still in a mob area) only to have them be killed within moments of me rezzing them – in particular, during the first phase of the Halloween events when a toon was standing right next to where a Haunted Door spawned. Lesson: If you’re going to AFK, at least do it somewhere relatively and reasonably safe.

I always regret rezzing guys after I realize they were AFK, even in some impossible areas that you never want to park your character. Wasted my time running there and broke their gears too.

Something like an acknowledge dialog after you are being rezzed would be nice to resolve this matter, so you still can get rezzed but it won’t get into effect until you are back from AFK. Oh I mean only in PvE. (It will become an exploit in PvP)

people see a dead player and rez them. then the player remains afk, dies again, breaking more armor.

That is one of the dumbest post I have seen on these forums. I don’t even know how you would come to that conclusion.

Anyway, on topic, if I am feeling particularly mean when I encounter an afk player I sometimes go as far as pulling mobs to the victim to cause their death then revive them and repeat.

People were abusing the auto cast feature to farm events for karma while AFK. They were banned for botting.

Someone said he probably AFKd within the vicinity of an event. Sounded like an obvious reference.

Actually I went to res a player, a bit away from me, and he/she was ressed before I got there.

A few seconds later the player died again and was ressed again, and so it went on, I went to investgate.

There were 3 bots, one kept dieing whilst attacking a (don’t remember what it was) and the other 2 kept ressing the one dieing. They were all in their undies.

Quite funny really, it just went on and on, I reported all 3.
