I’m not going to say anything bad about that game…, but man… After playing that for 3 weeks, I found myself coming back here and never looking back. That game really made me appreciate GW2 better than before: Activities and radiant events everywhere you go, new content every two weeks, a transmutation system that allows custom appearances, different storylines, login rewards…

And to top it off, a forum where many members of the development team (not just the PR guy) engage with the players with a professional, yet down-to-earth attitude. Seriously ANET, thank you for making such a fun and interactive world (and with the living story, I know it’ll be going for a long time).

I feel the same way OP (though I haven’t tried Destiny). I have tried ESO, Wildstar, FFXIV, and Archeage (though briefly).

People bash this game on the forums quite frequently. If nothing else it’s the best of a bad lot (to me anyway). But I think it’s very easy to tell people how to fix things, and it’s another thing to actually fix them.

And you know, if half the “fixes” on this forum were implemented, I’m not convinced that there wouldn’t be just as many negative threads.

There is way to much game-bashing on this forum, nice to know OP appreciates gw2 like so many of us

I’ve tried Destiny and so far it’s… okay. I suppose my big mistake regarding that game is that I’ve always sucked at playing FPS’s with a controller (I can only really play them well with a keyboard & mouse), yet I bought Destiny for the PS4 anyway. My opinion of the game may have been higher if it had come out on PC.

As for the other games on your list: TESO is actually really good. I haven’t played the other games there I so I can’t say one way or the other about them.

As for the OP: I completely agree! Two years in and I’m still enjoying GW2 immensely.

Go read other game forums. This one is about a 5 on a scale of 1-10 of whining and toxicity.

Though this game isn’t perfect (and honestly, what is) and there’s definitely room for improvement, I still rank it as one of my favorite games… ever!

It also really helps when you’ve got a great bunch of friends and guildmates to adventure with, too.

It’s the little things, right? I never realized how much I appreciated not having to go back to a quest giver, across many zones, in order to complete quest. No mindless running back-and-forth.

That hit me pretty hard when I tried another game recently.

Camping mobs in order to get it tagged to complete a quest. Or not getting the quest done because someone else did more damage. Someone steal-killing. Someone stealing a chest you just cleared an area to get. Same with nodes.

Actually having to kill rats in order to level . . . and the rats whipping your behind.

No way to recover if you get downed. The inability to simply climb over a curb or rock in the way making everything around you into a mirco-maze. The inability to dodge an attack you see coming.

I’m so not used to just sitting there and taking it anymore . . . hoping my HPs hold out.

Area looting. This should be mandatory in every MMO.

Just on and on and on.

Gone to Reddit.

I think the GTA: Online “community” deserves gold medal when it comes to that.

Destiny is a great game, it’s just built for a different type of player than GW2 is.
