After taking break/playing another MMO...
I just came back a month ago after playing another game for like 6 months, totally agree.
“Walk with the pack. In the eyes of Wolf, we are all brothers and sisters.”
I’ve seen this comment again and again. I guess because other MMOs really annoyed me, I never had to come back to realize how good this game was.
And you know, sometimes this game annoys me too…but not nearly as much as other MMOs.

That’s pretty much dead on exactly how I feel too.
Probably 90% of the complaints I see, all I can think to myself is, “man, you must not know how good you’ve got it.” GW2 ain’t perfect- nobody’s made a perfect MMO yet. Doubtful it’s even possible, because everybody wants something a little different. But it strikes a pretty awesome balance in most areas.
The combat is what mostly keeps me interested in GW2. I just can’t stand tab-target anymore. It feels ancient and outdated. I sometimes find myself trying to dodge in other MMO’s. lol.
I have the exact opposite view point. I took a few months off to player other game/mmos and it made me realize how good this game could be but is mostly not living up to it’s potential.

Is this the official White Knight thread?

Not all games are made for all people, which is what I keep telling everyone.
If you don’t like what this game has to offer, it doesn’t mean what this game has to offer is intrinsically worse than what you want. It could simply be that Anet is intending to offer a product that isn’t to your liking.
It’s like saying Coke could be much better if it tasted like Pepsi. Well no. It wouldn’t be much better.
These people aren’t white knights because they like the game. They’re people that like the game. If you like other games better, well that’s okay. You can go play those games.
This game is better for people who are on the same page as the devs. Clearly you’re not one of them.
I went back for WoD for a bit. It was amusing for a little while and then I remembered I bloody hate gear treadmills.

What potential? The game is well populated, extremely playable and pretty much free of any major issues. If you want something that’s not living up to its potential, look at games like ESO – even with it going f2p I have doubts that Cyrodiil will ever be fun, simply because of the absolutely mindboggling design choice of not ramping up playability from 1 player and up. You needed a 15+ raid just to get the game going (seriously, capping a tiny little camp in ESO was like taking an T3 Garrison. Alone. And you where a Ranger. With a kittened pet that couldnt tell the difference between its tail and an enemy).
GW2 aint perfect and I wish Anet would have focused far, far more on WvW… but it works. Its still fun.
GW2 does a lot of things very very well. It is one of the best MMOs on the market in my opinion.
Does it have room for improvement ? Of course. No game is perfect. I am going to have to agree with Vayne here though. Much (not all) of what people complain about in GW2 are not really flaws with the game, merely aspects that some players dislike and which others enjoy.
