After the expansion pack and LS Season 3
I don’t think the 2 week schedule is the LW’s problem anymore. I feel I’d be less satisfied waiting a month for 40 minutes of content than getting 20 every two weeks.
I think the problem with LW now is access. I don’t mind the two-week schedule, since the timeline for the in game stuff also goes through weeks and years, but I feel that the story shouldn’t cost 200 gems if you couldn’t log in. As I ran through S2 recently, I found plenty of others who were still doing that content, and achievements have changed focus, so I don’t feel like I’m rushing for titles and content anymore. Without being gated by gems, I’m sure I could’ve found even more people doing it as well. Friends of mine who recently bought the game who enjoy playing for story were really impressed by the idea of Living World, but were immediately turned off when they found they had to spend more money when they wanted to use that on bank upgrades and such. Now they’re completely opting out of this content and don’t want to start at the end. GW has always been a game you could put down when you’re busy and pick up again, and that’s why I’ve come back for 8 years or however long. I feel this barrier is counter to that philosophy.

The main thing is that your positive part rests upon the assumption that they only have those two weeks to work on the releases.
This is false.
As far as we know most of part 1 of Season 2 was already done before it even started.
The shortness of the chapters is more likely a design decision rather than a creation time issue.

True but I still think Living Story missions and other missions for that fact should be overhauled.
They main problem I have always had with Guild Wars 2 is how simple and short the PS missions and the LS mission are. I get them being simply is a way to allow more players to get into the game but longer missions that are more complex and what not doesn’t mean the missions being simply has to be sacrificed.
The games missions are way to focused at casual playing. Look at the mission from Guild Wars 1. To do a mission itself and skipping the bonus may take 15 mins or longer and doing the bonus it might take 20 mins or longer and you have to actually put thought and planning into how to complete the mission unlike the missions in Guild Wars 2 where you can charge in with your eyes closed, put no thought into it, spam skills and win in about 5 mins or so.
