Again, Thank you Anet!
dude chill, next expansion you are going to get another elite spec that may be more to your liking. you know, they did not have specifically you in mind when they created the elite specs. i’m sorry YOU don’t like it. many people, however, do like the druid.
hey hey, it’s not horizontal progression, it’s VERTICAL progression in the maps. it’s completely different, even though it’s the same, but it’s innovative.
If you’re telling him to wait 3 more years for the next expansion and the next ranger elite spec, just do him a favor next time and tell him to roll up a dragonhunter instead.

Isn’t this current expansion supposed to have more elite specs added? Since it’s unfinished and all. Still waiting for new LS. Would hate to have to wait for another 50 dollar xpan.
Also you can always just not use druid. Ranger is the only one that got additions to their core class, which is new fluffy pets.

You can always do a smash and grab into the Druid trait line for the entire two traits that aren’t related to healing or CAF. It’s what I’m doing. I think of myself less as a Druid and more of a Natural Stride And Ancient Seeder. Those two traits are strong enough that it’s worth the dip just for them. At least until the development team notice that Ranger has something nice that doesn’t revolve around being a healbot and correct the situation.

Where did you get that idea? all 9 classes got their 1 new elite spec/weapon/skills, there isn’t any more to add. Only things coming down in the near future is the other raid wings, and possibly living story. Seriously wouldn’t expect another expansion for another couple years.

Ugh, why are people still making the mistake of not maining mesmer?
It feels absolutely great having spent so many hours on a class, just to play a healer in the end.
I agree with this sarcasm.
I played a Ranger for three years. Haven’t played her since HoT. I play Mesmer now. I would love to go back to Ranger, but I don’t want to main a healer.

Just because the Ranger HAS a healing skill doesn’t mean you have to use it, I’m not, I think it’s moronic to give a ranged/pet class a healing skill with little relevance to the role the class has played since the beginning: the Druid should have been given to the Ele, seeing as how that class already had a healing variant.
It actually annoyed me the main class I play’s Elite skill is utterly useless for the playstyle that attracted me to it in the first place and why it has by far the most HPs of any of the level 80s I had when HOT launched.
If you want to play something that does obscene damage and uses a bow and gets rid of the awful pet AI play a Dragon Hunter. You get traps that actually work and heavy armor to boot.

I would have been so happy if the druid/healing elite had been given to the ele.
Thank you Anet for forcing my Ranger to be a healer, back to the trinity system I see?
Thank you for completely forgetting about your own ideals, going back to the trinity system, linear maps, and instead of gear checks, mastery checks. It feels absolutely great having spent so many hours on a class, just to play a healer in the end.
Ohh right, I don’t have to, I can just play the same thing I’ve been playing for the past year, wooho.
Well, to be exact, any profession can be a healer (So GW2 rule of Support, DPS and Control still stands), although some are better at providing healing (Like Guardians, Elementalists and now Rangers) while other profs provide other type of support at the cost of lower heal power.
And well, for Rangers, they didn’t have outward direct heal capability before HoT, instead could only give Regen along some buffs.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Arenanet isn’t forcing your Ranger to be a Druid the people you play with are. I’ve done more than a few raid groups where a Ranger (not Druid) was present and it was totally fine.
