Are you asking about drops from mobs/chests? Or from the Mystic Forge?

Nearly 2,000 hours…0 (zero) precursor drops.

No special (rng, high value item drops, above 20g) in that time either.

GW2 most UNREWARDING GAME EVER.

You will get some smug so and so on shortly say 8 precursor drops + loads of high value drops, obviously blessed by Anet….

I think about 4000 hours.
Chaos Gun and Zap drops (zap from Karkas… I think a few people got one as a drop during the initial karka events), and Rotgorts Flams after piffing in random rares to the MF

Three of which (Tooth of Frostfang) I got in under 25 forges y.day, 4th Feb.

And the first ever one was Storm at 400 hours from a trash spider in TA UP.

This seems very unrewarding game indeed, I can’t remember a single good drop. It’s just pure RNG or insane grind (Ascended gear).

I know people getting over 12 precursors in under a year. One of them left the game because apparently there was nothing more to gain O_o

But yes. Unrewarding. I’d rather sell the precursor anyway, since Legendaries are boring as hell. Not even a bit customizable… Who wants that? Even GW1 had dyable weapoms ;D No hate, I like to look at those weapons, but if you come across like 20 Eternities in a day and 3 Bifröst, and so on… it doesn’t feel special anymore. But other topic.

RNG hates most people, but that love for some is good for them. ^^

So did my fellow guildies.. I am still alive however and donated a lot of guild influence

But seriously..i did not believe it..had to look twice. Sold the lovers within2 days and kept the rodgorts flame for future use.

Oh and to make your life even more miserable..XD

i bought 2500-3000 trick or treat bags for the purpose of ascended mats (bloodstone, empy frags and dragonite) and for luck. Some poly luminiscent thingie black dropped. Completely useless for my char (thingie has Celestial stats) and also accountbound..but since it was exotic, I pinged it..
A lot of players grtz’ed me..it seemed the add-on (black something ) was worth 700g after salvaging with a lack lion salvage kit !

I got a random amount of precursors while playing for a random amount of time.

I had my one and only drop at just over 2,600 hours from a level 7 champion in Plains of Ashford. I’m at just over 5,000 hours now.

4,774 and got one precursor maybe 5-6 months into the game? It was on my first character and shortly after I turned 80. Was just learning how to do Claw, and I’m pretty sure ‘Storm’ dropped. People were linking exotics so I linked mine and (thankfully) someone sent me a tell after people were offering to buy it from me and explained what a precursor was.

I ended up selling it (which I’m sad about now), and for only 75g. Very different market back then.

But I saved up money and maybe 14-18 months in, I bought ‘The Legend’ for about 700 then slowly picked away at collecting the other things without focusing on it too much, and eventually got my one and only legendary.

Not sure if I’d do it a second time, or will have time to do a new one when the expansion comes out, but I’m interested in it.

This really shows the inflation :P I got Storm mid 2013 which back then sold for 123g.

Was half a year ago, both drops within 1 month. One from Inquest mob during Golem Mark II event, one from a Krait Veteran in the Aquatic Ruins Fractal at level 27.

Zero for about 3k hours 4 from forge in the last six months, 3 of them in December. RNG is funny.

1 Chaos Gun from my 2nd Mystic Toilet flush ever back in January 2013, made Quip finally January 2014.

Since I finally got a drop I’ll post. Got The Chosen at 8,770 hours in WvW. It didn’t come with what many perceive as the expected reaction. It was one more filled with contempt and expressed disgust along the lines of “it’s about kitten god kitten time”. Not a very good reward system imo.

They made a CDI about rng months ago. The overall consensus was that rns is bad and should be changed. Let’s wait for the expansion and see what is their solution for it.

I’m not able to get into the game right now, so I can’t post my data.

I do want to point out that this information is not really helpful though. You could spend 10,000 hours crafting in Lion’s Arch and not get a Precursor, primarily because you never do anything that COULD drop one.

If your thousands of hours aren’t spent killing LOTS of enemies, you aren’t maximizing your chances per hour and thus your thousands of hours are really only worth a few hundred or so.

3200 (something) 4 precs, 2 MF, one underwater (i forget which) from a random mob in open world and Tooth of Frostfang from a random mob in Cliffside fractal. I’ve only crafted Bifrost, the rest i sold or gave away.

3157 hours and finally managed to get a tooth of frostfang from mystic toilet after 10 flushes with random daggers. The lucky flush happened when I used 3 daggers and 1 mystic forge stone which provided me a nice 567 gold boost. Sold it ASAP because I have a main ele and the only legendary I like is the predator.

I’ve played for roughly 3,000 hours (a guesstimate) and have possessed about 6 different precursors.

5027 hrs no drop + 600g flushed down into mystic toliet and nothing. Unlucky account!

11 drop from MF in last 2 months (3x dawn, 1 dusk, storm, zap, howl, venom, the colossus, leaf of kudzu, and yesterday the chosen)

You will get crushed by meteor while playing gw2 inside your own house before it drops from something.

Then again, I never have and never will gamble in the forge (I know I have crap luck, I’m not about to gamble) so I suppose I’m not helping my chances any there.

I love that I just happened to see this thread now, when my total playtime was a nice number like that. Its funny, because when I list things on the TP that’s the sort of number I usually place my orders for (I’ll do, for example, 5g 5s 5c, or 24g24s24c). Maybe its a sign that my first precursor drop will be soon? LOLyeahright.

I’m calling it now, my first precursor will be an underwater precursor drop that will happen right after prices tank even beyond how low underwater weaps already are thanks to the expansion and precursor hunts.
