Mini Pet Zaishen Menagerie

I propose that any minipet you unlock becomes a playable ranger pet in game. You could add a mini pet menagerie to your HoT guild hall. We really need some better ranger pets.
I would die for a mini Mallyx ranger pet.

I disagree.

I think the current choice of pets is excellent as it is immersive and reflects the lore. How would you be able to tame an animal that is always hostile and considered an enemy (e.g. something that is corrupted).

Minipets also come as miniature versions of sentient NPCs- asura, humans, charr etc… I don’t see how this could be explained, either.

Moreover, the current selection of ranger pets we have reflect the boons/conditions that are available in-game. I believe there are some double-ups but with pet stat variation to add a little bit more variety. I don’t see the devs wanting to work out a new stat/boon/condition combo for every mini-pet there is and those that will be released in the future.

Being able to have distinguishable ranger pets is very important in PvP/WvW as it means that opposition has a chance at predicting build and tactics. If minis were introduced, this would be a nightmare- nobody is going to remember which mini-pet-pet has what stats and abilities.

So… yeah… a big resounding no for me.

Rather than a playable pet, I’d just like minis to have an attack animation when in my character is in combat, with no damage of course, so as to have them do something more then their follow and idle animations all the time.

Fight me and my mini dive-bombing tequatl!

Ok..so how about minipets that were exclusive to the Gem Store?

It would be cool to be able to name your minipets though.

I think this would put an unreasonable development load on Anet, if nothing else.

But I do have my ranger run the mini version of whatever pet I’m running, if I have it. The baby-in-training.

Ok how about give every minipet one skill?

I made a post a long time ago that minis should at least have a ranger pet speed (in short being able to catch up and not lag behind) but as for combat? nope because the purpose of a minion/pet/turret/summoned ally would be a bit less useful, besides while it would be nice for minis to do something else (pick up loot have a fighting animation when u fight) minis are purely for show
