I’m putting a lot of stock in this game with the next update. This will make or break the game for me. I’ve lingered around during the ascended fiasco, meaningless sPvP disaster, etc., however, I’m still hopeful they can turn the game around. This is their last chance. I’m not expecting the second coming of Baby Jesus, just need something worth my time.

Are you going to be okay with one or two maps, content drip fed over the span of a year or two, with the same quality of testing?

Yeah, then we wouldn’t have had to suffer through one year of “temporary” content… jeez!

As much as the the lovers gonna hate. I think its actually a sentiment a lot of people share. I wont say last, but the coming seasons/features/content will decide for a lot of people how engaged they will be in this game for sometime.

For me to stay here instead of wildstar the FIRST update of season 2 will need a full zone with hearts, vistas, events, POI’s, SP’s, a story, and zone themed gear. This is what the original maps offered and I will not take another half baked southsun zone.

If they can deliver that then I will probably stick around to see what else is going to happen. Otherwise I will move on to something that isn’t so stale.

I wouldn’t put too much faith in them. At this point, I will be pleasantly surprised if it is better than Season 1, but I expect much more of the same. I’ll just fall back on the library of steam games I’ve picked up, but never got around to playing.

Regardless of whether it’s a sentiment that a lot of people share or a sentiment that only a few people share, it’s a useless forum post with no substance.

I never really got the obsession over new zones all the time. What happens 1 month after this new zone is out? You beg for more. and more. and more. Then the game looks like WoW or Everquest with 15,000 locations to visit/level, with crickets chirping everywhere but the current content. There are many many ways they can improve existing zones first, saving new zones for the rare occasion.

The substance is people are looking for more substantial/better quality from season 2 or they probably won’t be around much. That’s feedback

I think the only reason we are having a season 2, is because GW2 has been released in China.

Why does this make a difference? Well GW2 is a brand new game in China, so it would make no sense at all to release a B2P expansion. Therefore Anet had to go with a Living Story season 2 hopefully followed in a years time by a B2P expansion. It makes sense…

I wouldn’t expect a lot from season 2. It will likely be similar to season 1 but with more permanent content. Season 1 living story varied between brilliant content to utter rubbish content, with everything inbetween. That’s exactly what season 2 will be like, some awesome stuff, some meh stuff. That’s realistic…

I thought it was a bad idea to put all your eggs in one basket? I certainly don’t feel Anet or NCSoft is doing this with season 2. And if you are feeling unsatisfied with the direction the game is going, perhaps this game isn’t for you. Not trying to be snarky or anything, but if you aren’t enjoying it, it’s time to move on to something else. And banking on an update to provide what you are looking for, probably means this game just doesn’t have what you are looking for…Just something to think about.

Telling the op to leave the game if he doesn’t like season 2 is pointless that’s exactly what he said he ld do. The op is saying he wants season 2 to be a better representation of gw2 potential than s1

Works both ways. I would love to see more from Anet to indicate that they have more baskets than just Season 2 to reinvigorate the game.

I wasn’t saying leave the game if he doesn’t like season 2. I’m saying leave the game because it isn’t working for you, as it is now. Season 2 probably isn’t going to offer what he wants. Its like watching an entire season of a really bad tv show. If you didn’t like season 1, chance are you’ll hate season 2, so theres no point in trying to watch it if you couldn’t stand season 1.

Season 2 has to work. If it doesn’t and delivers poor quality story ( season 1 ) and bad implementation ( again season 1) players will probably lose faith in the devs’ ability to deliver quality content. I for one know I would if they don’t make it good.

Here’s hoping.

It really has to be amazing. LS S1 was basically the FF14 1.0 of this game. It was an absolute disaster with next to no redeeming features. If they make a FF14 1.0 2.0, then it’s done, its over. No matter how good your game is at its core, if it gets 2 straight seasons of trash content, people will just lose interest.

Yeah but I think it’s been more than a year since we got the last one (Southsun), I personally don’t mind if they won’t place any more zones, but the map is so big with so many possibilities that it would be great to see more of it.

Probably because it’s new and exciting content that makes us feel like we’re not playing the same, tired Guild Wars 2 that has had near to know world building in a very long time.

And yes, we beg for more and more and more. Wanna know why? ’cause THAT is what is fun. Not the same, boring zones just with a new mission somewhere. New, entire zones to explore, enjoy, and make us love the game all over again.

^ cainejw gets it.

Boredom forced me away from GW1 a couple times. What kept me coming back was that, in a relatively short period of time, I had access to Cantha and Elona and Eye of the North. It quadrupled the amount of game that I had to work with. There was so much to do…vanquishing, title-hunting, FA arena, FoW, UW, DoA, RA, dungeons, Sorrow’s Furnace, hard mode (miss so much!), spending far too much time and money on heroes…It kept me occupied all the way to GW2.

Meanwhile, in GW2 all that’s keeping me interested is Tequatl, Wurm and Fractals, and those only because I avoided them until recently. I want to be interested, but the game is simply stale. I’m not getting my hopes up about S2 because I don’t want to be disappointed. Zen-like, I have cast off all worldly expectations.

So there’s your low bar, ANet. Impress me.

I hope that Anet will success at this time. They had to impress us. “When you have hit rock bottom, there is only one direction left is up.” So lets hope that Season 1 was just a lack of excercise for them. Now they have done one Living Story, they have learn their lessons, hopefully, and they can only improve their next Living Story Season.

Well I might be wrong too, and they have really get tired of players from NA/EU and all their QQ. What ever they have put in this game, what ever they have done, there are always some group of players who are whining all the time. They have had only forums full of QQ posts. So maybe they just announce something like this:
“We have a China now. We don’t need you anymore. Have a nice day.”

What ever they decide to do, I hope Anet will success
