All servers are listed as Very High.
True for the US servers, but I don’t think this represents the amount of people logged in from each server because of how mega servers work, the game creates copies of each map whenever needed, would be nice to get some clear info on what this tag means (medium, high, very high, etc).
Now is your chance to transfer to servers that where full =P

I believe that the population is an indication of how many accounts call that server their home rather than how much people are on that server at the moment. Anet claims they’re more complicated than that, but that’s the simple version.

Yep, I really think that is the case, makes much more sense, but still really weird that suddenly all servers changed to the same state of “Very high”
Yes, my server (since launch) has always been listed as Very High. Then, not too long ago, for the first time ever, it dropped to Medium suddenly. Seemed a bit odd. Now every server (in NA) is Very High.
At least, for all those lamenting not being able to join the top 3 or 4 servers always listed as Full these past few months, they can now transfer onto them. =)
Better strike while the iron is hot, though!
If it has to do with number of accounts, maybe an influx of botting accounts?
If that was the reason, then there must have been an influx of terminations, as well. ; )
They can make it say what they want it to say. Without a clear statement of player numbers, the ‘Very High’ is meaningless.

Hehe.
Is the population growing or were the server caps lowered, or raised?
You are certainly not going to get an answer from Anet on that. So far we don’t even know, if the server caps are the same for all the servers, or not. We do know that they are dynamically changing caps, but unless you happen to catch them doing that (meaning, see the change from day to day) you won’t ever know when they did it, and in which direction.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
About a year ago Piken Square showed Medium but we had a very dedicated WvW group. I’ve been back about 2 weeks now (after a year break) and Piken Square has been set on Very High but I hardly see anyone in WvW.
Then again, we are getting brutally smashed atm, whether that is the cause or the effect I do not know :P
We just came out of a free trial time period. They probably did some housekeeping then the new accounts rolled in and filled up the servers. The number might also be a reflection of retention. Until someone stops logging in for a time period they are still counted as a ‘live’ account.

Doesn’t answer why every single server iS the same – very high. Sound like they did a pop reset and default is very high.
This already made Tier 2 a blast to play. Finally the 3 servers are almost at equal scores.

Was close before though – still fun as you say.
Didn’t they raise the cap for the WvWvW tournament? They must have lowered it again.

That might explain it then. It makes sense.
If they raised (and/or lowered) the caps, it would not explain why some servers went from Medium to Very High (up), while others went from Full to Very High (down).
It may just be an anomaly, or it may be WAI. /shrug
Probably why the lag is so bad…rimshot!
