I don’t understand this silly restriction. I had some stuff I wanted to drop in the mystic forge, and as I had a character there I thought I’d just mail the stuff and save the trip – but I got an error message saying it couldn’t be done.

And also: allow mailing account-bound items like boosters too.

That’s what the bank is for and, lucky for you, it’s right next to the mystic forge.

The first character wasn’t near a bank or crafting station, so…

This is pretty much why they don’t allow it.

They sell extra storage. They sell remote bank access. They don’t want you effectively getting both for free.

[Edit] I guess I should mention that it also cuts down on the data storage needs when people don’t have huge piles of things sitting in their mail as storage. So, it’s better for the game that they don’t, as well.

It would be nice if you could send one email to yourself. If it was set up that you couldn’t send another until you cleared out your first, I don’t think there would be problems with people using it as storage. Sometimes it’s useful to send an item to an alt without going to the bank first.

At OP, I’ve often wanted to send mail to myself..but I guess that would make the bank express/golem….virtually useless?

I’ve known people to do it because it was cheaper and easier to mail the item to their destination than it was for them to transport it.

But seriously, how hard is it to just go to your server’s borderlands and hit up the bank there?
