I am not good at jumping puzzles, but it seems the Super Adventure Box is one big hard mode jumping puzzle. My friends tell me that it awards you unique weapons for completing Tribulation Mode. I watch vido on Youtube, and it looks hard. But I want the weapons. Can Anet please put in alternate way to get Tribulation Mode tokens? My friend Ohoni says that it would be fair for all players to be able to get rewards in the game in multiple ways. That way, there’s nothing exclusive. What do you think?

Nope. If you want exclusive skins that are tied to exclusive achievements then do those achievements.

The tribulation mode weapon skins are only different in color, which were meant to specifically represent the difference in difficulty. It is pretty much guaranteed that there will never be an alternative method for obtaining the tribulation variants. The default blue weapons are the alternative.

Isn’t it better if everyone is happy? Why not allow all players to access exclusive content rewards?

It’s supposed to be hard. ;/ Why would anyone even do the harder way if there was an easy way? Having one proves that you can survive one of GW2’s hardest challenges. If you’re not good then practice more or just stick to using the blue colored weapons.

You still get exclusive auras with trib mode, without alternative. Your point is not valid.

Anyway, apparently you can buy runs now so these weapons means nothing.

Definitely not. Skins/items awarded for hard content should remain that way. If you just can’t do the content, then I believe you shouldn’t get the reward. And I say this as someone who can’t (actually, more like won’t) sit down and play through Tribulation mode to get the tokens.

Explain me then why we can buy runs at endboss and claim to have completed tribulation mode?
It’s not even that way if you have some golds in your pocket. You can be rich and get what you want without efforts.

I don’t buy runs but I know it’s possible, and it’s probably an exploit, I dunno. Buyers will never be banned for this. Again, the weapons means nothing, currently.

This explains the OP topic reason.

It’s not intended. We’re not even supposed to be able to rejoin our party if we’re disconnected during a Tribulation run; there’s a notice about it as you’re entering Tribulation mode. So, yup, the people earning via exploit aren’t earning the tokens as intended.

As much as I deplore Arena Net for not fixing long standing exploits (for years on end). Considering it’s also one of the reasons they dropped dungeon content. I can’t agree with them just handing out everything on a silver platter. Simply because of the people that exploit the content. Since this also extends out to practically everything in the game. Including raids, fractals, legendaries, the trading post, and other “high-end content.” Heck I am totally for them reworking the daily log-in reward system, because if you have multiple accounts you are rewarded more. Next to those who are just buying more character slots on one account. However that does not look like it’s going to happen any time soon. While the SAB stuff is only here till the nineteenth.

As for the OP’s subject matter; not sure if that will ever happen. Unless there was something equally rewards you for the time and effort you put in overcoming Tribulation mode.

Trib rewards (exploits aside) are some of the best designed rewards in the game. They have identical skins to a set that is available via RNG/TP, so they aren’t “superior” to skins that everyone can get, but they also offer distinction for effort/skill. Thus neither the casual player nor the player wanting exclusive rewards lose out. (Infusions complicate this, but auras seem to be intended as a rare thing.)

There should be more rewards in the game like this, not less.

You can buy them, there are quite a few lfg options to buy. They are getting cheaper by the day.

In my opinion, it would be a really bad decision to allow the tribulation mode skins to be obtained elsewhere. They are rewards that show the type of content the owner of that skin has been doing, rather than most other skins that could just mean someone farmed gold and bought them. The SAB skins actually mean something, which is good.

When I first did tribulation mode I found it almost impossible even when following a guide and it took me over 2 hours to do each zone in world 1 but after some practice I can now do all 3 zones in less than half an hour, sometimes without dying at all. It really is a matter of not giving up and trying to learn what to do. I have not done world 2 in tribulation mode yet but after some practice, I am sure that will be farmable for me too. OP, you should not give up just because it seems hard at first because tribulation mode is extremely easy after you get some practice.

I really hope ANet looks at this soon – this is clearly not intended per the following text which appears prior to entering a tribulation (and only a tribulation) zone:

“Warning – Party members will not be able to join or rejoin their group once the zone has been entered.”

So based on this, getting the end-boss to 1% health and then bringing peeps in for quick zone completion is an exploit.

The thing is… The blue, green, and yellow weapons are the same – only the colour changes. And what most people want is rarity, on top of a cool skin. If blue weapons were W1 tribulation rewards and green ones were sold by the NPC, the vast majority of the people farming the green weapons atm would farm those blue weapons instead of buying a green one from the NPC.

So really, the colour of the weapon is only a sign of rarity, and that’s most likely the only reason you want that weapon. Therefore, cheapening those weapons by having a NPC selling them wouldn’t make sense.
