I was playing the other day at ‘red rock bastion’ and could’ve sworn I heard warmaster Gritblade (or the supply officer after you get the rubble event successful) saying “not today Mordremoth, not today”.

Well, you can find soooo many references that you can gladly link to GoT or something else..
Ever thought that the “Not today” could be a reference to Mary J Blige’s song? ;-)

Yeah, it even may not be a reference, but I was kinda surprised to hear him say that expression

Not today, not today is used by several characters in various shows xD

It’s not only native to Game of Thrones. I’ve seen it before / heard it before through other stories.

I don’t think it’s a GoT reference since that expression could be found a lot. It’s a bit like assuming every brains/brawn crime duo is a ripoff of Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar when really it’s just a commonly used trope that nobody can actually lay claim to it.

We know that Anet are big fans of GoT so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
Otherwise, it is a common line in movies/books etc.

For how I would love to see GoT quotes, I think the “not today” thing is a little too generic, you can find that in way too many other books/films/even RL to really be able to say it’s a GoT thing ._.

I wouldn’t of thought Mordremoth is the god of death, but alright then.

It wouldn’t be at all surprising if it was. GW1 was full of pop culture references, GW2 doesn’t have as many but it’s still not unheard of.

But I agree with everyone else who said it’s a bit too generic to be tied to any specific franchise.
