So, I’ve played ~300 hours on my warrior, run dungeons in Exp mode on a nightly basis, run FOTM from time to time and I have yet to find or receive a single item even worth 1 gold.

I have perhaps %10-%20 MF gear on depending on what I’m wearing and I always have a Peach Tart or Omnoberry bar active.

I run with people who farm these dungeons and it doesn’t seem to be a problem for them. For instance, I ran COF path 1, 2 and HOTW path 1 last night. None of use had much MF equipment on, but we all ate MF food. They each came out with 3-7 gold ahead at the end of the night, I may have made around 1 gold total for all 3 dungeons.

In another situation, a friend and I map completed Frostgorge Sound. He get’s 2 exotic items worth 13 gold between the two of him. For completing the exact same map, I get two items that aren’t even worth 2 gold between them. WTF?? I find this happens to me consistently where I’ll farm ARAH path 3 like 20 times and get jack and the people I run with find at least Rare’s if not some ascended items.

I understand there’s an element of randomness to the loot drops and understand it’s place. However, I’ve never seen it so disproportionaly bad between what I experience and what others experience in any other game.

Is there something I’m missing?

It seems you are missing the proper sacrifice to the RNG gods.
Random is random is random unfortunately, think of those that have spent 800 odd gold in the mystic forge and got nothing and someone else gets a precursor first flush.

Your friend is yanking your leg, you do not get ascended items from map completion.

Individual items that are worth over a gold are quite rare.

The claim of “1 gold between Cof 1, 2 and Hotw1” is bizarre and hopefully correctable. Are you making sure to pick up every silver drop?

Peach Tarts are more or less useless for dungeons. If you don’t have Omnoms, use Raspberry Peach bars for the gold find.

People are lying to you or something regarding acquisition of ascended items. It occurs via: 1) Fractal Daily Chest randoms 2) Collecting 10 Pristine Fractal Relics 3) Crafting/forging back pieces with rare mats 4) Collecting laurels from dailies and monthlies.

Neither world completion nor drops provide ascended items at all yet.

If what you are looking for is straight gold acquisition- any path of AC will net you ~1g alone with a Raspberry Peach bar even without a single drop better than a green.

I misspoke. I said, ascended, I meant exotic. We both got 2 exotics each……sorry for the confusion.

Your loot seems to be in line with mine. Your friends’ luck seem exceptional.

Ascended items don’t drop as random drops either.

On the actual note, some people are just more blessed by RNG more than others. I know one of my guildies get enough ascended rings from Fractal dailies to npc them for hoarding her bank space, gets couple of random exotics every other dungeon runs with only source of MF being the consumables (26%), while I have only ever gotten 2 ascended rings from about the same amount of Fractal runs and I’m usually happy if I get even a green from regular dungeon runs.

I believe so. I get all the tokens everyone else gets. I have autoloot on. I check both the boss and the chests……AFAIK, I’m doing the same as everyone else.

See, I get the random nature of how this works, but over enough time, I would think truly random odds would prove to yield a relatively similar experience, over time.. However, 300 hours into it and again, I still have to find a single item worth 1 gold which makes me the only person I know in my guild (500 members) that hasn’t found at least something.

No problem- generally, you want gold find for dungeons. Magic find is really only useful for farming in my experience.
