In every game I have played over the last 14 years, I love making alts, for I enjoy the process of building a character and learning a different class. I have never done it so soon after reaching max level in a game before.

I have been playing for a few weeks, and I reached 80; I have done a few (very few) dungeon runs with guild members, and they were enjoyable. Okay, so what do you do if nobody, in your guild, is online or available to do a dungeon run? Oh, well you just go to this website and click a few drop-downs and find a group that way. What? Really?! Yes really.

No dungeon finder tool? Okay, I can live with that because it promotes actually being social with people. No world chat? Okay, well.. this is something I typically turn off in many games because of the amount of spam and ridiculously annoying conversations that inevitably flood it. Having said that, something is seriously wrong with a game that (almost) requires you to go a website to find a group. Seriously?

Maybe I am just being picky; it’s not like going to a website to find a group is difficult. I am just baffled that people find this normal, or that it is even a thing. Finding a group shouldn’t literally take you out of the game. It sounds like a step back in design.

My two bits.

Gw2lfg is just a contrivance until in-game functionality exists. You are certainly not the only one who wants it.

Yes, you are the only one..

(Disclaimer: that’s my standard auto-response to anything that asks “Am I the only one….”)..

Ok, seriously now, an in-game LFG tool is definitively the first on my wish list for this game, even if it’s just a port of the website inside the game (like the BL store is right now) that automatically removes listings when the group gets full.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

GW2LFG is simply an embarrassment to ANet.

Especially considering that there´s nothing stopping them to use the Awesomium web browser (the thing that´s actually displaying the BLT or the support window) to simply copy GW2LFG.
Actually adding the functionality locoman described also may or may not be trivial, only Anet knows that.

The most convenient and least elitist-encouraging lfg system I’ve experienced in an online game so far has to be the one in Warframe. You select the content you want to do and it hot joins you automatically with a group that is not too far into it, no questions asked. No “ping build plz, no gear checks or show X”. Problem with implementing something like that in GW2 is that dungeons are a pain to complete with less than 4 people, while in Waframe, you can solo pretty much anything.
