Am I the only one who does not use Crafting?
I tried crafting, back when the game launched. Since Asc. crafting hit, though, I’ve stopped. I also have a friend who does not craft at all and another who doesn’t mind it, but doesn’t bother.
I don’t craft at all.
Of the people I know,
- Most do some crafting.
- Some feel compelled to craft, even if the TP offers the same item(s) for substantially less.
- Most crafters only do so for things that can’t be reliably obtained any other way, e.g. ascended gear (for those who don’t raid), various legendary items, etc.
- Some refuse to craft.
So, plenty of people out there who don’t like crafting.
I crafted on a few of my characters. But most have not even been to a crafting station. Out of my 11 characters 4 have crafting disciplines. And 2 of them where just so I could make The Flameseeker prophecies.

Nope used to enjoy crafting very much then Ascended dropped and i barely touch it now, occasional piece of exotic.
Ascended ruined crafting for me.
I only craft if I have too and even then I try not too… At the moment it’s only food and utilities, but again I can go without.
The only reason my toons have any crafts on them, is because when the game first started I could use 60-80g to level all crafts which would level a toon strait to 80.
….. And Elementalist.
I crafted, all crafting professions to their respective maximum levels, but after I get there… there really is no use for the crafting itself for me (ascended gear can better be gotten elsewhere etc.) the only exception to this is maybe scribing since it will probably keep evolving as the Guild Halls grow.
The classic crafting though, there very rarely is the need to craft. sans some legendary components or collection bits. The reason I bothered to max crafting at all is in case they add something that I want that requires them, like a few things have. Leveling the crafts at the point when they have already done that is just more expensive than doing them pre-emptively just to have them.
I craft most days and make gold out of it. It’s part of my regular game activities.

Same.
I also craft to help with guild upgrades when I can.
I craft mostly to get asc gear I want, and to refine materials into less space consuming tiers. Sometimes I craft to obtain craft-specific skins.
My girl hates crafting, yet she is always complaining of all the space consumed by mats, and about how she would like to have some ascended gear for her toons.
Crafting is the answer. Crafting is peace. Crafting is love. :P
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

I really don’t enjoy crafting in MMOs but I recently crafted Ascended gear for my Necro main (took me years to gain motivation to do that). It was a frustrating experience and I’m glad I’m a mainoholic because I don’t ever want to craft again. :P

I have to agree with you, in my opinion Crafting is just to over the top in expense and time. I would rather play the Open World aspect of the game than to stand in front of a crafting station.
I craft things that have a time gate on them because you can usually make a profit on them.
All of the really good “crafting” is done via the forge.
I do some crafting but I don’t find it to be a hugely engaging part of the game. I made it all the way through cooking on one toon though!
I had to stop and think. I guess the last crafting I did was a new batch of food and utility items.
Before that, I maxed a crafting line on a single alt toon so that account could have backpacks, with the intent of one toon on each account being able to. Then I discovered that you could buy max packs off the TP. So heck with that.
I keep stockpiling materials, so am sure I’ll get back into it one of these days. I have all crafting disciplines, most to 400, a few beyond that. Oh, and I have the spinal blades quite a ways along, but still need to finish it. One of these days.
I used to craft. I stopped when the items crafted were way more expensive than the same items bought. This especially came true once ascended crafting arrived and even more so after the leather update with HoT.
