We can all have a bit of a laugh with this thread. Because we do, it does not make us insensitive or mean that we condone animal abuse (in real life).

Same, it’s a natural calling for me, I earnt the Critter Killer achievement in WoW through natural play.

You do realize in many countries people eat Rabbits and Deer and maybe even Kittehs heh

It’s really sad that this thread has continued on so long when there is absolutely nothing positive or constructive about it. It’s just a bunch of people making fun of others based on a difference of opinion. Nothing more. Nothing good will ever come from this thread other than some laughs for a few and some moans for others.

What’s even worse is that I had to listen to this ridiculous debate in LA map chat yesterday, which of course turned ugly rather quickly. It’s always a shame to see crap like this on the boards but to then have to deal with the same crap in game is just saddening. Very saddening.

Thats because anything remotely constructive from either side has already been said :P

What if it was called ambient hunter (as in, hunting for food) as opposed to ambient killer (as in, killing for fun and profit)?

I’m a staff ele, I view the innocent critter victims that always give me ambient slayer without trying as “Collateral Damage.”

I think this is likely most frustrating for role-players, who (without reasonable, non-forced in-character reasons) view the activity as immersion breaking. Despite the fact that some will just laugh at anyone role-playing a character in a role-playing game………. I think the frustration is reasonable.

They can always choose another Daily task, but when the choice for a fifth boils down to ambient killer or something they personally loathe doing even more.. you have one of those “stuck between a rock and a hard place” situations, which no one enjoys.

That my friend is when you role a chaotic evil character who doesn’t even have a moral compass so you can complete it w/o issues!

Or you just do what I do and play an asura who believes everything other than him is inferior and as such is expendable… Mostly.

How many people are both strict enough RPers that they’re not willing to ever do anything out of character AND so concerned about getting laurels ASAP that they’re not willing to miss a day?

I can’t imagine there’s many of them.

If they are concerned they could always create an alt and/or guest on another server so they can be out of character. Or create an alt for the express purpose of killing ambient creatures and make it part of their personality.
