umm wrong, if an ambient is at the end of my heartseeker…… then auto target doesnt mean anything, btw i dont use auto target and it happens soooo
All I can say is, learn to position yourself better in that case. Considering all the things that should cause revealed but don’t, I wouldn’t say the ambient thing is unfair. Besides, they aren’t too hard to spot. Especially if you are running away.

well umm when i am running away i’m more concerned about not dying and how far away they are…..also about positioning it doesnt matter in this situation ambients are just annoying
Heartseeker is on a weapon that cleaves. You can still hit an ambient even if you are not aimed at them and even if you have auto-targeting off.
I fail to see how this is an issue.

I guess we’ll just have to be more aware of easy-to-spot ambients. A thief is already a great profession in WvW and ambients shouldn’t be a problem for any class.
I was going to say that at least the ambients make things a bit more of a challenge, but in all honesty they really don’t.

After seeing thieves use stealth and mobility to escape too many times, I’m having a hard time finding any sympathy for someone using an attack move as an escape, and complaining that his attack actually reveals him if he happens to hit something.
Hold ctrl to highlight the ambients and just avoid being near it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
More ways for a thief to reveal themselves are always good.

the only reason this is an issue is because ambients do not give any buffs like stacks for a weapon so why should they reveal someone from stealth, especially if the person is trying to run you are more focused on getting away not “ooh hey look a rabbit” its just there and it’s annoying a nice change to it revealing you would be nice to get rid of.

i have never used that before….sounds like it should be removed and same with c and d’ing of a supply depot, if it doesnt seem like it should be removed, then ambients need to give buffs and stop being bi-polar where they do some things but not all things

I think this is actually a pretty good argument. Ambient creatures exist as just a thing that you can target/hit. I think it provides some interesting, situational options, like bounce-damage, CnD into stealth, or carelessly revealing yourself because you stumbled on a rabbit.
How about changing closing attack moves so they can’t be used to move while not actually being used to, you know, attack. That sounds like a more equitable solution. Your problem would disappear.

this was really worth being necroed? It does not get you any buffs because they are not real enemies and hence should not qualify for you to get more powerful. And yes, it makes sense to be revealed, I´d be rather on my toes if some poor bunny got his heart pierced right next to me. Seems easy enough to avoid this, no change needed.
Problem: The game doesn’t want me to spam HSes into smoke fields, so I can stealth every couple seconds have tons of damage, blinds, escapes as a D/P!
Solution: Don’t play D/P
Reward: The game will be better for everyone.
