I second this. Sometimes we all get carried away. I always try to keep the devs out of it personally because they are people with lives outside of work too! And actually the pvp devs are smart and clever. I think people’s frustration has moved to lack of resources!
If devs made an inherently bad game then none of us would moan about things. So they should see all criticism as a compliment in some way

Mean PS: With that being said, I would appreciate if perhaps you would drop warriors from top priority and gave other classes (namely elementalists) a chance to flourish, it certainly feels that said class is getting all the goodies and attention, having a unending amount of viable builds, weapons, roles and places in team while others barely see any action other than players trying to make it work somehow [in vain]
You need to drop this train of thought that they’re favoring a class.

I really REALLY dont want to deviate the thread to this, but warriors have been in a very strong spot in PvE, PvP and WvW, now tPvP, but to believe in solo queue warriors were bad is a lie. Warriors are probably the only class that have remained relatively above others for the most part. Cant say the same for the rest of the other classes….

Rampage: This elite skill now also provides 20 seconds of swiftness.
Smash: This skill now causes a 2-second cripple. Increased the maximum number of targets to 3.
Bash: This skill no longer causes cripple. It now causes 5 stacks of vulnerability for 5 seconds. Increased the maximum number of targets to 3. Fixed a bug so that this skill properly displays in the attack chain.
Uppercut: This skill no longer causes vulnerability; it now dazes the target for half a second. Increased the maximum number of targets to 3. Fixed a bug so that this skill is properly displayed in the attack chain.
Dash: This skill no longer knocks back the player’s target. Reduced the recharge to 6 seconds. Increased the damage by 100%. Cleaned up the animation so that it will hit the target more quickly when used at close range.
Throw Boulder: This skill now causes a 2-second stun. Increased the damage by 65%. Increased the projectile velocity by 50%.
Seismic Leap: This skill has replaced Stomp. It is now a ground-targeted, 2-second AoE knockdown with a 600-unit range.
Bull’s Charge: Cleaned up the animation so it will hit the target more quickly when used at close range.
Staggering Blow: Fixed an issue that caused players to stop in place after using this skill.
Signet of Might: The activated unblockable buff now lasts for 5 strikes.
Impale: This skill now applies torment instead of bleeding. Two stacks of torment are now applied upon the sword’s impact.
Mending: Reduced the recharge to 20 seconds. Decreased the base heal by 6%. Scaling with healing power has been decreased by 20%. This skill now removes 3 conditions.
Healing Signet (Passive): Reworked the formula that this passive heal uses. At level 80, this skill goes from 392 healing per 3 seconds to 467 healing per 3 seconds with 1500 healing power.
Healing Surge (Stage 0 Heal): Increased the base heal by 12%. Scaling with healing power has been decreased by 10%.
Healing Surge (Stage 1 Heal): Increased the base heal by 11%.
Healing Surge (Stage 2 Heal): Increased the base heal by 19%. Scaling with healing power has been increased by 25%.
Healing Surge (Stage 3 Heal): Increased the base heal by 16.5%. Scaling with healing power has been increased by 50%.
Rush: Cleaned up the animation so that this skill will have a smoother transition when approaching the target.
Heightened Focus: This trait now applies the appropriate crit chance per adrenaline level.
Berserker’s Power: This trait now applies the appropriate damage increase per adrenaline level.

Axe Chain: Moved the damage more toward the end of the chain without reducing overall DPS.
Chop: Reduced the damage by 9%.
Double Chop: Reduced the damage by 12%.
Triple Chop: Reduced the damage of the first two hits by 20%. Increased the damage on the final hit by 75%.
Final Thrust: This skill has been moved to slot #3. Now it does more damage and extra damage versus foes whose health is below 50%.
Hamstring: This skill has been moved to the end of the skill chain. Reduced the cripple duration to 1 second.
Savage Leap: This skill now applies 3 seconds of cripple.
Leg Specialist: This trait now has an internal cooldown of 5 seconds.
Skull Crack: Increased the stun duration from 1, 1.5, 2 to 1, 2, 3. Increased the damage by 50%.
Endure Pain: Reduced the recharge from 90 seconds to 60 seconds.
Stomp: This ability now breaks stuns. Added 1 second of stability. Reduced the cooldown to 45 seconds.
Dolyak Signet: This is now an instant stun breaker.
Throw Bolas: Reduced the aftercast by .3 seconds.
Kick: Doubled the damage.
Berserker’s Stance: Increased the recharge to 60 seconds. Reduced the duration to 4 seconds. This stance now reduces incoming condition duration by 100%, so only modified conditions can get through.
Balanced Stance: This now also applies swiftness.
Dual Strike: Reduced the aftercast from .5 seconds to .25 seconds.
Whirling Axe: Reduced the aftercast by .2 seconds.
Rush: Reduced the aftercast by .2 seconds. The transition between the run and swing portion has been smoothed out for hitting moving targets.
Hammer Shock: Reduced the aftercast by .4 seconds.
Staggering Blow: Reduced the aftercast by .25 seconds.
Backbreaker: Reduced the aftercast by .25 seconds.
Crushing Blow: Reduced the aftercast by .2 seconds.
Brutal Shot: Reduced the aftercast by .3 seconds.
Rampage: Reduced the cooldown to 150 seconds.
Brutal Shot: This skill now adds 5 stacks of vulnerability (up from 1). The duration of vulnerability applied changed from 15 seconds to 5 seconds.
Knot Shot: Reduced the recharge from 25 seconds to 15 seconds.
Untraited Longbow: Increased the range from 900 to 1000.
Riposte: When players block an attack from range, it no longer cancels the blocking.
Whirling Axe: Increased the damage by 50% in PvP only.
“Fear Me!”: Reduced the recharge to 60 seconds.

The flavor of the month class is always overpowered, and the class you main (unless it’s the FotM) is always getting nerfed into oblivion, of course.

You failed to realize that this update was after months of asking for Warrior buffs but hey, sure let’s keep talking about how Warriors are favoured when THE BUFFS WERE ASKED FOR
And in that same month Necros were buffed as well but I don’t hear anyone mentioning how they are favoured by the devs.

Ok, sure, after months of getting buffed, but do you really want me to keep pulling the nerf/buffs side by side for both warrior and ele? Because warriors have been consisntely getting buffed in almost every balance patch whereas eles have gotten minimal buffs and really strong nerfs. Do you really want me to show you the crude truth or will another excuse come which i once again have to disprove…?
Like I said, lets leave it at that, whether warriors are or not the golden child of Anet is not the point of this thread. Please dont make me start reporting posts for deviating the topic….

Just doesn’t make sense. Warriors big buff was over 2 months ago and has only recently become “OP” so calling for warrior favoritism is unwarranted. Mainly, you are claiming this because the elementalist seems underpowered (like in your other thread) when in reality ele is strong, but people are bad and they don’t like that they can’t go solo and 1 v 1 on ele and need to depend on their team to help keep them alive.

You got to understand that when a class loses power that is NOT a direct attack towards you.You bought gw2 not gw2:the ele .You can play another class and move on.
Even if a class was indeed neglected and im pretty sure that this happens very often for a lot of classes since manpower is limited as it seems in the balance team,then kittening about 24/7 on the forum wont make any difference.
Besides they got statistics and numbers telling them about what the community thinks.Ibet they noticed that you need to searcch for hours to meet an ele in soloq
And if ele isnt good after they nerf some admittetly op things thise numbers will remain.You still wont see ele in top teams(if there are any) or soloq and then they ll have to do something about it .Chill man :P

I’m really confused what to think here.
On one hand i agree totally on everything – they are doing their best.
On the other hand in my life i’m constantly asked to be “perfect”, even on stupid little things. Well i can’t say i like when I have free time that I must face the imperfections of others. By that i don’t mean the imbalance or bugs that just happen to be, because of acidents, but the fact that some things are not fixed, like ever. Stealth is broken ever since bwe1, “charge” skills too, other things that were added/modified with bug, also are still not fixed – and they are part of the pvp which by template should be at least bug free(you know what i mean). I’m not going to involve money in this matter, because it might become hairy.
I apologize for my rude language when i was not happy about something, i know its not right to use it. But i still wonder should i be sorry for what i said?!?(because most of what i was unhappy about was about bugs and their fixing)

He merely said it’s unreasonable to believe that devs have a bias toward warriors because warriors haven’t been buffed in months. Then someone told him that warriors were buffed two and a half months ago, as if that proved him wrong somehow. Two and a half months = more than one month, i.e. “months,” plural. What is going on? The original post claimed that warriors were given top priority, so it wasn’t even off topic.
Eles are getting multiple buffs with zero downsides in the mid-October patch. Maybe we should see how those play out before going all lynch-mob on talented, reasonable players for suggesting that eles might just be viable. Or maybe I’m just dreaming.
Already showed one person the true power of ele last night. I couldn’t even show him i had to message him the rotations how to play it and all that. He picked it up fast and is loving it. Anyone else curious and wants to learn go ahead send me a pm. I am on NA but i can also explain it to those on EU.

The only downside is that these changes are coming to conjures and staff, both of which are hardly used (and will most likely continue to be hardly used) in sPvP, regardless of whether it’s team queue, solo queue, or hotjoin.

The crude truth is the Elementalist has been good for quite a while. Only the other day someone came up with a high damage Staff build. Only today did someone tell me that “focus has no synergies with other weapon sets” and I went along to test this theory out only to find that this person is sorely wrong.
Warriors haven’t been great for a while. They’ve become way more awesome recently because Anet really wanted to get them into a better position which is why they’ve been buffing them quite a bit.
You can’t take a push to make a class better as “favouritism”, that’s just ignorant of you to claim. If there was no buff ( and I mean not one single buff) to any other class then we could talk about favouritism but there have been several buffs to other classes INCLUDING the Ele even with the “nerfs”. But hey, Anet favours Warriors… definitely…

Its good when players give constructive feedback with some logical arguments for their views, but bad when the whining gets to the point of mindless bashing.
Your post was so nearly brilliant Fortus, until you put that bit in about the ele.
There is never going to be perfect balance. Warrior was considered the bottom of the barrel for so long in spvp, and ele has had their glorious day at the top. By the way, warrior might be OP at the moment but not to the ridiculous extent that the ele was back in the day.
Don’t worry though, another OP ele patch will probably come and go sometime down the track.

I read this at work and wanted to reply, but my phone wasn’t letting me.
This patch is not really a buff. Here’s what we’re getting. A buff to Unsteady Ground for Staff (Whoa guys, watch out), a minor healing increase to Water Autoattack (Which not a person is in range for anyhow. They went the wrong direction), and Conjure Buffs (Which is like Engineer Kits, except not useful at all).
Also, things ARE getting nerfs. Evasive Arcana AoE Range is getting decreased. Elemental Attunement buff ranges are getting decreased as well. These are two MAJOR things for all current Elementalists. Almost everyone is currently 30 Arcane. Elemental Attunement is a mandatory trait that is getting nerf.
They favor all class, it just that some getting more attention than the others and some get no attention at all :P

Anyone ever stop to think about how those who play supposedly OP classes might feel if they don’t actually LIKE the good builds? I know I didn’t like it when bunker eles were all the rage, because I wanted to play a ranged build focused on sustained damage – a bunker wouldn’t cut it for me.
I experimented with everything I could think of, and some condition builds almost worked out, but they didn’t even compare to s/d burst builds (which had basically no damage after the initial burst combo back then, and that didn’t work out too well because I liked to go for direct, sustained combat rather than OMGWTFBBQ surprise burst).
I build mainly for 1v1s, so once they removed the ability to use Ether Renewal in Mist Form (which was the right move, despite my frustrations) and increased RTL’s cooldown to 40 seconds, I just didn’t have a resonse to surprise burst from thieves and the like. I got so frustrated after a while that I just stopped playing.
Now I’m back, and eles have Fresh Air – it’s not great for sustained damage, but it’s something. Thing is, though, it requires 30 points in Air, and nerfs to elementalists’ self-sustainability make it even harder to survive without 30 Water and Arcana, so now the class is pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum, as there’s not much point in going for anything but max burst (though still no points in Fire, lol).
The class basically took one step forward and two steps back relative to my playstyle. To me, there were never any glory days, it’s all just been bleh.
So please, to anyone reading this, when you call a class overpowered, BE SPECIFIC. Specify the class, gamemode, build, and role, and THEN commence spreading your cry of “OP!”.
I say this because, even if it doesn’t confuse the devs, it’s depressing when no one recognizes your difficulties. :C
