Actually, that’s Jabe, a ‘sentient and mobile tree’ of the Forest of Cheem, appearing in the second episode of the 9th Doctor’s run, ‘The End of the World’. But she sure looks like a sylvari to me. A sylvari — in spaaaace!

Probably old news among sylvari and/or Doctor Who fans, but the last time I saw this episode, back in 2005, I didn’t know what a sylvari was, and when I saw it again this morning I was all like, ya know, ermahgerd.

Anyway, these Forest of Cheem guys are descendants of Old Earth trees — perhaps by way of Tyria! It’s a big Universe out there, so… sylvari Barkships? Who knows?

BBC writers do. And their answer is very probably “you are wrong”.

I’d think that if the sylvari made spaceships, they’d be more like the ships from Jurai in Tenchi Muyo.
