I’ve recently come up with an idea that could be implemented. Although Anet have said we will see more ulility-slot-skills in the future, there is something that kept bugging me-weapon skills. I will not complain on the weapon skills system, because I think it is VERY well done, BUT simply comparing to first Guild Wars possibilities of building a build ( just in my opinion ) are not so numerous. Here comes the idea ( I’m looking forward a discussion about it, so feel free to say what you think ) : for each of the skill slot ( from 1 to 5 ) develop a couple(2-5) skills to choose from. A few details about that " system "
1) each slot would have separate skills, which means you could not use #1 slot skill on #2,#3,#4,#5 slots
2) each of the skills for one slot could be done based on tradeoffs, for ex. two skills for #1, where one would do aoe damage with lower dmg and the other one would do more dmg, but would deal damage only to one target etc.
3) a player would be able to change those weapon skills like traits, at a certain merchant for a small fee ( I think that being able to change them just when you are out of combat would be too powerful, but again, it’s a discussion )
Well that would be it ! Tell me what you think of it and who knows. . . maybe Anet will like the idea as well ( they propably won’t though xd ) Cheers !
I welcome the idea, unfortunately, OP, this has been mentioned since Beta days and we have yet to see any words from it. If anything get prepared to have this thread moved to the graveyard suggestion forum.
More options = better. But I would much rather have us balance out the current skills before we introduce more skills into the game
