not that anybody should care about my opinion, but i want to throw my 2 copper.
i think once the southsun live story is over nobody will be back there, we had enough and the karka queen with her double rare reward isn’t enough to go back.
this is why:
one of the pre event is the perfect new farming spot (i will not say witch one, but smart people already fond out), so not completing it gives more income than killing the karka queen.
the karka queen may or may not spawn.
the karka queen is easily failed and the only waypoint available to get to her when she is up is owain refuge, that is far far away. any other route will kill you due to endless crazed stuff along the way that you can’t skip.
the fight punishes berserkers and people in this game doesn’t even know what another build is (edit: not anybodies fault, dps is more rewarding than survivability but with this specific event the damage output seems to be worthless unless all the stack of armored boon in the karka queen are gone, while condition is still fine).
you have to throw egg at her but nobody knows it and everybody does 10 damage or zero, but they still autoattack.
she is always out of range for no reason.
she is on a short timer and resets her hp.
did you see what you have done here? you created another grenth or balthazar, with a lyssa farming spot.

Not just berserkers. It punishes all builds because the scaled karkas can drop you in one or two attacks, even with thoughness, vitality and healing power maxed out.
that is true, i meant to say that this time the direct damage is really low, and actually this is the first boss where condition damage is an asset… though the event is too much easy to fail. it is a pity because i wanted a boss event were my condition weapon doesn’t feel useless

how it is easy to fail, those armor stuck got off easily when theres some one said in map chat to throw eggs at her. and everyone kept attack, got it killed on my 1st counter…im a zerker btw
my entire point was:
this event will be done only in some server when the southsun fever will be over, because they created a new grenth.
and when i said it punishes berserker build i din’t meant to say they die, you are to sensitive over this, i said that the damage output is very low, while condition is nice.
at least i noticed the difference for my toon when i tryed pure dps and when i tryed conditioning.
by pre events you mean the one where you have to burn the karka nests or else crazed karka will keep spawning and dropping loot?
its not that hard to figure out thats a farming spot, but nobodys gonna farm it because they wanna kill the queen maybe once southsun finally dies down
Rares won’t motivate me at all. Actually it’s kind of drag open bag and use salvage kit.

the karka queen is the best world boss event Anet ever made.
and punishing zerkers mentality is good, they should introduce more different boss encounters.
Did the queen first spawn and one after that. It never came close to failing either time. That said I don’t think this will be a popular meta.
i killed the queen in prime time and everything was fine, she also fled and suddenly spawn in another outpost.
i tried to kill her after daily resets, with a bunch of players (same number would easily take down all the world bosses so far but grenth and balthazar). and the event failed all the time at the point of giving up. so yes, when the southsun event are over, my guess is nobody will bother with the karka queen, which is a pity because as i said it was a different fight in fact is challenging but failing it because it is on a count down is cheap.
The problem with the queen is the same problem with the rest of the world bosses. It’s fine to kill them for the loot, but we don’t really need them. Due to that, ppl only appears on the maps, to kill them when they appear on timers.
If only they dropped some sort of individual tokens that could be redeemable at individual npc’s. Like 1 token per kill/day: Mini’s, tonics, and so much things could be in there (even specific weapons like the Gargoyle skin from S.behemoth) They are so underated atm…
LHound, how would that help alleviate “timer-camping” them? People already do it due to easy loot, and you want them to increase their loot? Add minis and special skins to dungeons I say!
Although I haven’t played the new event yet, I think meta-events, at least in zones 60+ should be interesting, if not somewhat challenging bosses that reward decent loot when killed. Unlocking merchants, areas or long-lasting effects on the whole zone are nice features too. In what part does it disappoint you OP?

“Timer camping” bosses will never cease to exist! The situation, is the why people goes to them. Why people play specific content? I find quite stupid to kill a dragon and hey, i got some rare helmet… It’s all about how content affects the playerbase.
Sure, players go kill Shatterer, Tequatl, Claw of Jormag, Behemoth…
But to they really go to the “Eye of Zhaitan” and the Temples? Why? They are on timers too. Simplye because they don’t need them!
Killing World Bosses on this game is a convenience, not a needed thing. Adding individual tokens to each World Boss, would surely make it worthwhile. Combining dragon tokens to get something different. Flame Shaman tokens plus the Dredge Comissar tokens could give u the jetpack/Minis (as they are Molten combined).
