Anatoli Ingram
I feel the exact same way. No one ever wrote as eloquently as him about GW2. Between he and Rubi and Lis —who both work for ArenaNet now-- they made Flameseeker the very best column about GW2, bar none.
I already thanked Anatoli at Massively in the comments on his last column, but yeah, thanks!
Tis sad news indeed.
On the brightside, some of the Massively staff are pulling off a phoenix impression and launching MassivelyOP.

Wonder if Toli will be writing for them there?

I really liked Anatoli’s stuff. I wish him well and hope he finds another venue for his work, because the community is poorer without his insight.

Hey all,
A little birdie told me that some of the folks from Massively are forming a new group, so if you were on their FB page, you might want to check that out!

With all due respect to Anatoli, the Flameseeker Chronicles took a nose dive after Rubi Bayer left. Where Rubi wasn’t afraid to critique GW2 for its shortcomings and praise its strengths, Anatoli’s writing sounded more like an Anet press release with some first person reporting sprinkled in.
What? Granted I haven’t been visiting Massively that much lately but this seems rather odd, out of the blue, jarring and a bunch of other words I’m too lazy to find my thesaurus for.
Kinda thought Massively was a fairly successful blog / news-thingy.
So I guess I need to find a new MMO site to go to every few weeks. Any suggestions?
Sad to hear about massively, one of my favourite gaming sites.
Good luck to the staff.
Yea, it was really sad news. Massively covered a wide range of MMOs and had more integrity in its style of reporting than most blogs/sites. I followed Gaile’s hint and apparently they’re starting up a new site called MassivelyOP.com (it’s not up yet). Here’s the link to their new facebook profile: https://www.facebook.com/massivelyop. Not much there yet, but that’s pretty understandable since everyone just got officially laid off yesterday.
And for anyone wanting to know more about the shutting down of Massively, I’d suggest checking out this article: http://massively.joystiq.com/2015/01/30/massively-that-was/.

That’s really cool of you Gaile. Putting a red tag on this thread will get their new undertaking some new attention.

One of the reasons I dislike corporations.
Their IQ levels never achieved two digit numbers.

Thank you very much for this information and I hope you will let us know when they get actually up and running. I seldom talk to the birdies

Thanks to everyone posting the links, hope Flameseeker Chronicles is part of the new massively!

Um, not at all. He’s been very critical of GW2 in the past year. I feel that you either missed the reading or choose to ignore it entirely.

Lots of despise for poor mechanics and designs in this game, BEYOND the love for teh game as a whole. It’s a matter of not selectively reading only the pieces that praise the game.
