Attended and got DC/NoLoot/NoMail

too much lag to log in. wanted to attend. no mail. no loot

End this madness. Send everyone else a chest (preferably with ALL of it’s contents auto bind to account) and agree never to award tradeable or non-cosmetic items from world events again.

Agree with you but to have a minimum of fairness the items need to be as the ones dropped in the event chests. If you change the type of items another even bigger row will start..:)

This is my idea of a compromise. This gives everyone a fair shot at the game-breaking chest while minimizing the impact on the economy. It far from perfect, hell its far from fair, but it will make everyone slightly happier and hopefully the devs won’t make this ‘kitten’ again.

PS: nice points earlier in this thread. I agree with you on almost everything.
PSS: My sympathy to whatever part-time broke gamer gets two Dusks and can’t sell them.

This probably happened because after I finished the event, I took my alt to another overflow and crashed halfway through that event.

What amazes me is how diligently they are analizing who did not received any chest to be awarded ONE when many people got SEVERAL chests (several chars at event day + mail today) or got a chest by mail without even participating in the event and in the Account Issues forum has already been acknowledgeded that people who got several chests have nothing to fear and can keep everything.

Why not giving a chest to whomever did not got 1 today by mail?

I’ve tried to address this too, but it seems some troll is always ready to crucify me by saying I’m making crap up, being a socialist, etc…

I hope eventually they’ll figure out a solution to this that’ll at least make some general sense, I realize someone will ALWAYS complain, but it seems every attempt thusfar has created more issues. Seems to me that’s become a running theme over the past week with things like the cliffside fractal and the like. Fix one mistake create ten more. I realize in a perfect world that would never happen, and with a solution with such a vast player base, someone will always get shorted, but it feels there could have been some sort of better thought out fix.

Earlier someone somewhere posted something about having a chest be in LA for open looting. I think that would be an amicable solution, have it live for 24hrs after notifying people then close it off. The problem is it creates the same issue as the original event itself. In my experience though, one time events that take place for only a set period of hours always end up being the producers playing with fire… Members feel alienated because they have jobs, etc that prevent them from being able to do the event.

Hopefully there will be something that works out in the end, and quick.

I understand your point but believe me that the uproar would be even bigger than now..:)
I am pretty confident that if everyone opens a chest (must be exactly the same event chest, with same probabilities of getting a percursor) the anger will go away.

If the opportunity chest is not exactly like the event ones, then it will be another huge mistake.

Any sense of the history of this fiasco would lead to the prediction — they could spend weeks on it, execute it, and not only would it crash the servers, but it’ll distribute to all the wrong people all over again.

I think them fixating on the chest/loot isn’t helping assuage the disappointment.

Better to apologize and move ahead.

Can anyone find a page, interview or forum thread on these forums or fansite’s where anyone even semi-official gives a blunt apology? Bonus points if they actually admit what they’ve done wrong or even that they did something wrong.

Well, I can think of many people and many reasons opposing the idea of sending exactly the same event chest to everyone but I will not post them here..:)

- Tbh, people are too loot focussed. Getting free loot, or missed out loot is a privilege, not something I like to see in any game.

I find it close to cheating for them to even give out the loot again/ for those who missed it. It’s nearly like asking to rewind the movie in a cinema because you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie. :P ( and you couldn’t hold it up)

I’m fine with this, as this should be compensation for those that weren’t able to loot, and I was able to. I won’t turn my nose up at it if I get one, though… free 20 slot bag helps a lot.

I was annoyed that RL got in the way of that event. However, I wasn’t too put out by it. There would be future events.

The event rewarding and several other acts of unfairness has negated much of my enjoyment of the game.

You attended once succesfully, were unhappy with the reward, tried again but got DC’d… and you call it unfair?

Reading this whole thread, I find it disheartening how some players were awarded multiple times while others not at all. It’s rather cruel to see people talk about it in-game as well, as if rubbing salt in wounds.

Would be nice to award one to everyone just for the Holiday season, but then I can see how players, such as myself, would be upset they only got 1 and others will have gotten 3+. I just don’t see a fix to please everyone. T_T

22 hours attended across the whole 3 day weekend doing all phases. Tried logging in 10 mins before main final event, was getting a server error. Continued to try for a good 90 minutes then gave up, so couldnt even get into the final event.

I wasn’t expecting anything since I didnt get in to the final event itself. But seeing how some people have got rewards several times and some people receiving via mails for not even logging in over the weekend. I do feel a bit aggrieved that I will probably not get anything despite participating for 22 hours over the whole weekend negating lag-fest and bugs and helping others, when others who didn’t even log in have received a mail. Just because the server couldn’t log me in for that one tiny window of the whole weekend I will no doubt get nothing.

If the event itself didn’t leave a horrible impression on people (especially those who were playing the free trial) the debacle they end up using to try and correct things should. Both involve a total lack of foresight and some very bad programming.

Now they may have to end up doing what they should have done days after the event and just mail everyone in the game a chest. It would have solved the issue quickly and would have been a show of goodwill basically saying we know the event was messed up and we apologize. Instead they wait weeks to run a program that is an utter failure compounding the initial errors in the event itself. They can’t wait weeks, or even days, this time. They either make sure they get it 100% right this time, or just give everyone the reward.
