Can we get a slot where a mini-pet can be equipped, with a check box to show/hide mini-pet?

It is a royal pain to have to constantly keep re-clicking my mini-pet every time I wp from one zone to another, or log in and out (or dc).

Anet, if you are having trouble selling the mini-pets, or just simply wish to sell more of them, then please give this idea some serious consideration. I know of many players who will not buy/use the mini-pets due to the monstrously difficult nature of trying to show them, and also due to the waste of precious bag space.

P.S. This would help broaden the market for mini-pets on the TP.

P.S.S ….Did I mention you could make more money selling mini-pets?

yep, asked for….many times.

at the moment there’s not much reason for a mini…I’d love a slot..even if they charged gems for the mini pet slot. (so long as it turned up an ALL characters)

Yep, I don’t bother using mini-pets because they disappear all the time.

still waiting for this. But, it has to be more than 1 slot. 3 would be good.

You can only have one mini at a time, three is pointless.

We just need one, and we’ve needed it since the game came out.

1 slot with the wardrobe allowing you to switch it out with any miniature you’ve got stored in your bank. Done.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I personally have collected all Set 1 and 2 minis, working on set 3 and have %90 of the Special minis. So I consider myself a ‘Mini Collector’.

That said, think of the performance ramifications if every player had a mini-slot to auto-summon minis with. The mini models, small as they are, have the same poly-count as their fullsize counterparts.

What would happen to framerates in WvW if 120 players in an SM 3 way all had 120 additional mini models showing?

What would happen at Tequatl and Wurm if 150 players had 150 additional mini models?

You could argue that a certain amount of culling or an option in the Graphics settings to ‘hide minis’ would solve this problem but then doesn’t that defeat the purpose?

I personally feel that Anet would implement this feature in a heartbeat if their engine allowed it. Its probably a great relief to them that every player DOESNT permanently show their minis out of habit…

I really had not thought about the results of the additional mini-pets added to the map. I suppose that a way to add them to the culling effect could be an option, at least as far as individual players’ systems are concerned, but I really have no clue of the effect on anet’s servers. Good insight though, thank you.

I sure hope the Devs allocate resources to something that actually matters before even considering this request. Sorry, but that is my honest opinion of this issue.

simple,
if they add a mini pet slot, they should also add an option in graphics “show mini pets” yes/no/just my own/party members

this would render the graphic reasons against it,.. obsolete :P

Like the town clothes change thing? Because that’s similar. My crystal ball says that there is a chance …

“Whose Kitten is this?” – “It’s a Charr baby.”
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Some people think this would be a missive QoL change, and therefore that it matters.

Just because it’s not something you’d enjoy doesn’t mean it isn’t something anet should consider.

And it’s been asked for ALOT.

I’d be grateful for that too. They can like, add a slot somewhere within the interface for 1 pet, then, if you want more you can buy them with gems, and have more minis available to summon. One at a time only though, but for convinience you could equip more of them so you could change them on the fly if that’s your thing, without having to go to the bank to change them.

Now, they waste space in the inventory, constantly dissapear and are more trouble than they’re worth. If you could just activate them and they behave like pets do in every other game (and stay active no matter what until you deactivate them), that would be great.

Other players could choose to see others minis in options like Taygus.4571 suggested, and maybe forbid the use of minis in WvW and PvP to lighten the graphic and server load or whatever…

I’m not much of a mini collector. I only have 2 and i have no idea where i got 1 of them. The other (Toxic Nimross) i bought with the festival tokens. It’s with me always, and i like the pet systems in general, but it’s a hassle to summon it all the time…

And while we’re wishing for stuff, it would be cool if they add a short summon animation. Now they just appear out of nowhere…

Also, want different summon animations? Gem store! There are so much opportunities for ANet to make the system better and get some cash while they’re at it.

But there are probably more pressing matters in the game they have to deal with.
Like fixing mesmers… -_-

Many times suggested.

Most people agree that it’ll be the best if it worked a bit like the ranger pet panel. You click the mini slot in the wardrobe view in the inventory, then you get a dropdown menu with the list of mini series, you pick the series that contains the mini you want, then you get a popup with the icons like the pet selection panel with the minis you own colored and the rest grayed, and you can select any mini you own, but you don’t take it from the bank when you select it, so multiple characters can use the same mini. Take the mini from the bank, and any character that had that one selected loses the selection when loaded.
