Dear Anet, pls stop showing new specializations and classes mehanics in ugly heart of the mists. If you put so much effort in to crating something cool and you alredy have so much “bether looking places in game” but you decide to show expansion classes in pvp loby… Maybe this wont matter for manny of old players (i know what game has to offer and i know i will buy explansion) but rly if i was new to the game to be honest pvp loby is not the place that i would rememer.

You still have time.. make some summary of revenant and new spec. but not in the pvp loby pls. ps: sry for my english i wrote this only wishing you bether promotion of the game and to point (for me) bad promotion move.

I think the reason they use the PvP lobby is that they have the golems there as a reliable source of targets, plus they can very quickly make a sample character. Mostly it’s the golems, though, as the elites are being demonstrated for people that understand the base profession and how it’s changing.

For promotional purposes they should do more showcase videos like they did for Chrono, DH, and Reaper. For demonstration of how the skills work, the PvP lobby gives the best controlled environment.

HotM is great for test, demonstrations and numbers. But for showcasing and advertising? Go to Orr, go to Maguuma, go to Frostgorge, go to Mt. Maelstrom. There are plenty of awesome locations in the game that would make great backdrops for promotional footage. That will hook new players; when they see GW2 for the first time, they should be saying, “That looks epic and I want in now.

Not, “Woah, look at the bleeding ticks on those golems!”

but then again… they show of what the specs do, the skills, traits and weapons, the mechanic and what not. Thats atm the important part and in HotM everything is controlled. You see how skills act against the armor classes and clusters of individuals. Also i do believe a complete new costumer will most likely care about everything else but a spec he cant even use till lvl 80…well not saying he\she wont care…but specs are shown off and made for players who already play the game a while and look to put a new twist into their chars and have some understanding of what they are dealing with here…or have a reason to play classes they didnt like before (sorta what happened with me and the reaper). Believe me if i tell you that the last i wast paying attention to in the spec streams was how dull HotM looks… though yea.. for promotion i really would have liked to have these clips they had for DH, chrono and reaper…but alas.. there we are 26 days away from HoT.

Yeah, but only to some degree. If you actually want to give a customer a realistic view of what they’ll be getting right when they buy the game, then show a level 2 warrior using hundred blades again and again in Queensdale. We don’t want to see that, they don’t want to see that.

So by all means, show a flashy video of a Norn Dragonhunter kicking kitten in Frostgorge Sound with those flashy new longbow skills instead. That will pull people in, not the Queensdale slog and not the HotM bleeding ticks.
