Anet, bring this boat back, what happened?!
Maybe thats why they took it away, less work that way than having to add collision detection. Sounds like leftover work from beta times that were downprioritized.
I used to be a power ranger, now not sure anymore
Isnt that the boat that leaves in the cutscene from that one living story episode? i dont think that should be there actually…

That is hardly ‘work’ at all. With as many decorations, structures and varying types of terrain with collision detection throughout the game already, there is absolutely no reason why this boat I encountered should have no collision detection.

I have no idea…
Let’s just say I am around Pearl Islet for hours at a time most days, and never have I seen that boat there before. And even if it is related to a Storyline, it isn’t mine, which then would then make this a bug.
All I know is I thought the boat was an interesting touch, and I don’t understand why it’s not there anymore.
A response from Anet would be nice.

That boat was part of the southsun living story episode where we first met Canach. Grande finale of that episode was that boat leaving the dock and going up in fireworks and destroying the Consortium work contracts so the people on the island could be free.
What you are seeing is merely a bug that accidentally was left behind in the code and erroneously becomes visible when it is not suppose to.
There is a ghost ship like that near one of the piers in Cursed Shore as well(I think that one is from the personal story).

Then perhaps I should note this in the bug forums since you seem to be certain that this is indeed a bug, to which I would agree.
