Anet, pls change female GS wielding animation
Hey, male Norn also hold the GS the same way. Go to Hoelbrak and tell them how weak they look! I’ll watch from a safe distance.

Nah, the way the female characters wield the GS is one of the reasons I wanted to make one.
I hate the way male characters carry it.
Male greatsword swings (on a human at least) feel real awkward, especially the first swing. I tried out male Reaper today and by god, the auto chain is horrible.

Yea male human GS are terrible either stance and the first swing. I have no idea why somebody will swing the sword from left upper with that baseball bat stance. It is not somebody will do with slight weapon training.
Female gs stance ia fine on the other hand.

The problem are the unrealistic weapons in the game. Hand your human female a reasonable sized & balanced sword and it looks well.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)

I don’t mind the female GS animation, and I’d hate it to be changed to the male version. HOWEVER, I think the GS-on-the-shoulder animation is the best, and would love to have that instead.
I see no problem. I like the animation. If everything looked the same it would be boring.

Charr definitely have lots of fantastic weapon animations. I love everything about all the GS stances!
Human male weapon animations REEEAAALLLY need to be focused on. I think the biggest issue with them currently is that they make it seem as if none of the weapons have any weight behind them.
Greatsword held up in the air over their shoulder while running is just so wonky… imagine how quickly your arms would get tired. You’d probably just lazily throw it at your enemy when it was time to take a swing.
One handed weapons on male humans also really messes with my OCD. I feel most of the warriors who arrive on the battlefield would already have their face covered in cuts or be missing eyes with the way they jog around with swords in their hands.
My nitpicky self could keep going and going… I think a lot of inspiration for better animations could be borrowed from Dark Souls or Dragon’s Dogma.

I agree. My female Sylvari uses the Vision of the Mists GS which is a “ghost” weapon made of purple mist, it is not heavy yet it looks like she carries a really heavy weapon and it looks awkward. Since some people like the current one, I think the best thing would be making weapon holding positions optional / choosable on the character creation screen! But then again, that is extra work for Anet so it probably won’t happen…
I wish my male sylvari could use those sword dragging female animations. Maybe in the future, Anet will let us choose one of the two animation styles on character creation/make over kits. (hint hint)
