Let see, how can i say this without leading someone to thinking that im complaining ?
Orr farming bring out the worst of people . The difficulties of the events between Meddler and Anchorage enrage players. For the first event, people often blame commanders for not luring champs away from NPCs or players with the bomb symbol on their head running toward the NPCs . This tends to happen when there are many players on the area. I think the solution for it is just do it with a small group but it’s not likely going to happen because everyone wants their precious boxes. For the second event, there aren’t much trouble there but there is sometimes someone there to screw up by killing cauldrons.
And then “lfg staff guardian”,“group looking for staff guardian”. Guardian now has become the most demanding class since the day of Cof path 1 with mesmer and warrior.
Ever since the path came out, i think players have put their self-interest above everything else, myself included. I feel like i’m obligated to farming because it’s easy and highly profitable. This is not what Guildwars 2 is about, is it ?
So ArenaNet, let’s turn those farmers into adventurers again. Let them have cakes!.

What are you talking about??? PvE still zerk or die . No need for 10 guardians to support you unless you are doing high level FotM even there if you have AR its pure zerk .

This tends to happen when there are many players on the area. I think the solution for it is just do it with a small group but it’s not likely going to happen because everyone wants their precious boxes. For the second event, there aren’t much trouble there but there is sometimes someone there to screw up by killing cauldrons.

God forbid people want to progress past anchorage WP and do the gates of arah event which also gives the same loot bags, instead of farming the fire elemental, failing the event, and starting again just to exploit the event to farm fire elementals. There are plenty of other champs in that zone and especially events that you can upscale to lots of champs with a lot of people, which we were doing on Day 1 of the patch. We felt no need to farm the fire elementals because of this, and neither should you. Oh and you can’t do that farm with ‘small group’s because the mobs won’t upscale to champs.

I’ve also never seen those npc’s have any trouble, and this whole “everyone must guard” thing is non existent, and I’ve never seen it either.

guardian groups are for noobs who cant stay alive for 2 seconds. Its way better to have classes that actually do damage and have AoE. The perfect party would probably be 5 Engineers for champ farming.

There is a guardian ability that hits everything, that is what I was told. They don’t want them to keep the party alive, they want them to tag.

If they nerf champion loot bags people will just find another thing to farm. It’s been happening ALL YEAR and will NOT change at all. Sad truth.

Guardian staff 1 randomly hits 5 enemies whenever you swing the staff. It is GREAT for tagging large scale events.

It isn’t the support skills why guardians are favored on most parties. It has to do with the PvE culling we have right now. You see, a guardian’s staff skill #1 has a wide frontal AoE (fairly fast attack skill on top of that) and doesn’t required a target. It basically hits everything in front, invisible or not. A good way to counter PvE culling and better chance to get loots.

What’s so profitable about champ farming? After the new weapon skins reach saturation on the TP then what’s left? Occasional rarer mats on the TP? Weren’t lodestones and certain T6 mats already too rare? Go make a legendary(but I won’t).

You have a miss understanding, people want to farm the fire elementals because with a large group you get 30+ champ bags in 10 mins. The part about a small group doing the escort part means that there won’t be champ risen jesters that spawn and wipe the event because people stack on the npcs or don’t revive them which causes instant fail for the event.

even when you revive nps it gets messy with the dumb jesters spamming around. Last run we had 3 jesters spawning . 1 jester is enough to 1 hit k.o all npcs, let alone 3. Honestly, I don’t know what dev has that sick sense of humor to create those guys.

On NSP just to get to this point, we have to start about a half hour before the main Zerg even shows up. If we don’t, then too many people who show up early will just be AFK’ing in Meddlers causing Champs to spawn during the actual Escort (chan). I think we’ve only once pulled it off when a Champ Jester spawned b/c it was stuck to me like the glue on it’s bomb and I just kited the darn thing so far away from the NPC’s that they lost aggro on it.

And I personally have to get there 15 minutes before that just to thin the Herd of mobs from the Last 3 or 4 failed attempts b/c they all clump up outside the Gate instead of Despawning like they’re supposed to.

Another day, another event exploiter complaining about people ruining their exploitation.

Man, I can’t wait for ANet to make the timers on all the champions longer and more random.

Though, in the event of this being an actual legit complaint: It’s open world, you shouldn’t go in expecting flawless execution. Because there’s very little you can do about randoms joining in. And people will always be asking for whatever class they think is the best. I’ve seen other MMORPGs that had 10 classes and endgame PvE dungeons were basically looking for just 2 of them. Not to mention that the actual speedrunners had a bar of entry that would basically amount to having full exotics, ascended and a legendary in this game.

Its the new CoF 1, at least it has people out in the world, and some have stayed behind to do more dungeons, gradual improvements, but its still not great.

bad player? I am sorry, champions have pulls and wells dealing insane damage per seconds,jesters have bombs stacking damage killing multiple people in the same time. This new issue is frequent in temple runs as well , not only in normal events or ’’zerg’’ events. Keep staying blind with your rage and enjoy countless deaths when you’ll have to do temples with the new risen types + the boss.
I was there for a while to check it out, even if you get downed/die you just WP and run back if nobody will res you, and resume smacking the mob.

Maybe you’re just blinded by hatred or just ignorant, but those risen have started issues at temples as well. Keep justifying this and enjoy getting killed over and over while trying to liberate temples, assuming you even do that

Sorry, you lost me, I don’t have any hatred or contempt for you, or this issue.
All I’m saying is that you stated there is effort going into this farm, and I’m saying that effort is mostly negligible, as you can just avoid it most of the time, and the point at which you can’t you just run back, and it only puts a very small dent in your overall farm’s profitability.

I soloed every one of these champs for fun well before the zerging began. I’m not sure how you’re managing to die to them in such a huge zerg. Even the temple bosses aren’t really hard, though they have some mechanics which are more interesting than the ones in the Gauntlet (Lyssa’s daze thing is cool).

LOL what? I don’t think you have a clue about the discussion here. I’m averaging 20+ boxes per run, oh and I do it while being a huge help to my group. Engi’s can’t come even close to what Guardians can do here.

They do more damage and has more life scaled, but yeah its easy. You cant expect much from zergs…

They can go ahead and nerf it, the damage is done. Pulling in at least 20gold an hour this way has already messed up too much. New players won’t ever be able to afford things as it is now. They will have to either A)Leave it as is, or do a serious roll back. It isn’t even an exploit, it’s just using the system they put into place.

Right now if they nerf it then newer players, or people who didn’t get in fast enough, are in trouble. Good luck purchasing the next tier of mats etc..

My suggestion is farm till your fingers bleed. IF you need a change of scenery goto frost gorge, or queens dale.

Just one thing: don’t nerf the loot of champs.

But the scaling with all these unnecessary champ – AND – the ultra fast respawning due to a event failing/stalling are making it getting out of hand.

For example, queensdale rate of champ killing is fine. There are no exploitable events. Respawn is short and there are multiple champs to kill, but once you get loot you can only wait for it to respawn – also, they do not increase in numbers depending on the size of the zerg killing them.

Events spawning 5 to 10 champs in a 3 min timespan that can be failed on purposes and if failed restarts within 60 seconds with same champs with same loot….well, THAT needs to be adressed.

But don’t touch the loot itself, that is prefectly fine and has been a nice addition to game rewards.

Seafarer’s Rest EU – PvE/WvW – 8 × 80 chars.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

The solution is simple and I’m 100% certain it is what Anet will go with assuming it’s feasible with their systems.

Champions who spawn as parts of waves of enemies will no longer drop boxes. Only the ‘boss’ Champions of events and open-world Champions will drop boxes. This will tone down the farming and promote completion of events without taking away too much from farmers who will simply have to run around some more.

I like champ loot as much as the next person but the current setup is being abused like crazy and needs to change. Frankly I don’t think its gonna be much longer before they nerf it. I don’t see them making any changes the actual loot. Chances are they’re either gonna make it once a day like boss chest, increase the respawn timer for champions, possibly remove champion status/bump it up to legendary for some mobs or attach serious diminishing returns to it.

Champion farming is intended. Zergs killing 35 champions in 10 minutes before failing an event at Anchorage, or porting around the map and rushing to tag champions that die in < 10 seconds is not intended.

People go nuts whenever they have a new exploit they’re rushing to take advantage of. It’s toxic but is going to be par for the course until the patch hits.
