Announcing Group Events on Map
RIP City of Heroes
I do when I think about it, but I don’t always think about it. Usually after my second cup of coffee, I post events. Certainly champs anyway.
Do you or don’t you? I for one always post on map that a group event, usually involving a champ, has started and link the nearest waypoint. I’m just curious why most players don’t seem to bother. I know there’s seem to be a quirk in scaling can actually make the event longer with more players and I know some may want the challenge of soloing it but in a game that stress co-op/friendly play in PvE why don’t more players do this?
Because most expect someone else will do it, so why bother and add to the spam. And then you get
SB UP IN FIVE
SB UP SOON
SB UP Phinney WP
SB UP IN 4
and then followed by inevitable
WHEN’S SB UP? and HAS SB Started?
WHAT’S SB?
Kinda like Who’s on First!
And Most if not all ( and if they don’t they should) use a timer and already know.
Timers are great for boss events but we no longer have notification on zone events that aren’t boss events.
RIP City of Heroes
I usually announce group events, especially if there’s a champion involved or if I know it’s part of the trait hunt. Sometimes I don’t have map chat enabled so I don’t bother, though.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
