Think about it, there are so many people from different time zones that play this game. So no matter when the lottery rewards are handed out, some will be sleeping, some will be working/in school and some will be in game. There has been no mention that I recall of the rewards being either trade-able or account bound. If they can be sold only a lucky few will reap the reward of selling at the high buy offer, everyone else will miss out. So will there be a race for the trading post or will we have new skins for our wardrobe?

Only time will tell…

They’ve confirmed they will be sellable on the TP.

And yes, some people will get lucky and be around at “prime time” (which is to say, when they’re first given out) to be able to sell them ASAP before the price drops too much. But that’s the same with any item in the game, really. There’s no way to eliminate that effect, really, given the wide range of people and timezones who play.

Yeah. Fergahdsakes, what’s your ideal scenario here? The skins are only awarded at a time when every player is online?

Let’s assume that actually happens. Now there’s a mad rush to post all these kitten weapons on the TP (assuming no one wants to keep these things for themselves). So 1000 people simultaneously access the trade post and post their item for the exact same price.

Oh wait. That won’t happen. Even if everyone is doing this in the span of 5 minutes, you’ll still see the same behavior. Players will nickel and dime each other until there’s a range of prices about 50-60 items long for each skin. This will happen if they do it in 5 minutes or 5 weeks.

And it’s FAIR. No one knows when they are divvying out the weapons. Anyone overly concerned about missing out on their windfall can do what they’re going to do anyways – stay in the game until they get it.

Or they could just hang onto them for a few months until prices improve again. Seriously, 100 – 200 new skins is a drop in the ocean compared to the active GW2 playerbase.

Anyway, good luck to everybody who submitted tickets. I only turned in about 30 or so that I got from my casual farming of the Labyrinth, so I’m not getting my hopes up.
