With the new patch, and summer time approaching, being able to wear costumes in combat, I think now, more than ever, would be a nice time to re-suggest having a purchasable swimsuit in the gemstore.
We all know the textures for at least the humans have been created, but it would be nice if each race had their own unique style for the summer months!

I’m not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that some things have ‘changed’ a little bit in the past 5-6 months (in my case, a running animation and some clothing I liked), a little here, a little there, with no offered explanation as to ‘why’ (when they are asked).
The only thing that might shed some light on this new philosophy were a few phrases one of chose to use in responding to the clothing changes. Appropriate and healthier game.
So, I hope your request passes their new guidelines.

that all depends on where you live, where i live in the summer time it’s extremely common for women to wear bikinis, especially short shorts with a bikini top in stores etc but i am near the ocean but still, it’s common and no big deal so anet should add it just for more options plus if anet added bikinis and swim suits and other swim wear to the gem store i bet they’d sell lots of gems.
I’m pretty sure this was brought up last year and anet did respond as to why they won’t put this in game. Just take your armor off if you are desperate for some in game skin, creeps.
So roleplayers in a role playing game are creeps? Wonderful.

I live in a subtropical climate and it is quite common as even the winters are warm.

And what about on a Southsun beach where you’re automatically stripped to your skivvies the moment your toes touch the sand? What’s more appropriate attire there than bathing suits and bikinis?

This is probably the reason they took away our town clothes. Swimsuits being wearable in combat would probably outsell every other outfit and individual piece of town clothing combined. /sigh
It’s just moving into winter here in Australia so we could do with some summer clothes for our characters to remind us of warmer times. Bikini + shorts is quite acceptable summer casual wear in Australia.

The amount of women player characters running around scantily clad is already disconcerting enough, this idea would exacerbate the problem ten-fold. Pretty sure they’d want to distance themselves from a greater perception of objectification too.
i don’t really see the need for this as you can gaze at your character in undergarments as long as you take off your armor. however it is to be admitted that any kind of fap material for your pubertal clientele will probably raise the revenue.
on the other hand … some silly hawaii swimming pants might be not that bad… on the other other hand i hope i never have to see anybody in lord farens speedos (especially him).

I see people in swimming gear on the beach, or at the swimming pool and sometimes a bikinitop near a music festival, but I don’t see people wearing swimsuits in the supermarket, or waiting for the bus or when going to school (200 mtr from my house) or otherwise generally on the street.
I wouldn’t mind if people did, I just don’t see it happening.
