A lot of times it just seems like the official forums are where all the angry peasants and hobos gather up to yell at Lord Arenanet from outside the castle.

I think the reason that Arenanet seems like they aren’t very responsive is because a lot of times, people don’t know what it takes to fix something, they just want it fixed NOW. And sometimes, they aren’t willing to jump into the cesspool of negativity by replying. So here is me answering some of your most asked questions.

1) Why does my charr’s tail still clip through my armor? Its been 2 years?

Well, they COULD just get rid of tails all together when they are covered like hair and helmets, but that would please some people and kitten off a whole lot, so they chose not to do that. The other fix would be for them to go through every armor set in the game that clips with a tail (so most of them), and redesign each one so that the tail is not clipping. But that would take a ton of time and resources and at the end of the day, is that where you want those resources to go? I have a charr character, and I don’t even know whether my tail clips through my armor or not. It probably does. But it for sure did at one point or another and it hasn’t bothered me, not once. Why is it hard to believe that your character just cut a small hole in the armor and popped his tail through?

2) I still cant wear shoulder pads because they float! ITS BEEN 2 YEARS!

I attached a picture that a person who asked this exact question posted with his complaint. Guys. You can’t take the bulkiest shoulder pads in the game and pop it on the most tightly fit armor in the game and be like “it doesn’t look right, Anet is ridiculous!”. your ridiculous! What!? Those armor pieces don’t go together. The reason that some shoulder pads float is because they set it to a position that matches the armor set it goes with. Every single shoulder piece in the game floats, but ones like in the picture float more and smaller ones float less. If they made them all look attached to an armorless body, then when you equipped the chest piece you would take to the forums and be like “UMMMMMMM… why does my chest piece clip through my armor?”

3) Legendary scavenger hunt?

no

4) Why is all the armor so skimpy on female characters but not on male characters?

Not all the armor is skimpy. Some of it is, but that is kinda what they were going for. But a lot of times, if it is showing a crazy amount of skin, it does on the male version too, but you accept that more. Somebody said the raiment of the lich wasn’t skimpy on males but it was on females. It has nipple piercings. There is only so much you can do to make male armor skimpy, and let me tell you, I don’t want any armor showing a tuft of my character’s pubic hair.

5) Why can’t I make my character obese?

Well, because you are running around the world on foot fighting monsters with martial weapons. Even if you use magic, you are still getting tons of exercise. Have you ever tried chopping a tree? Its hard work. My guardian chopped 200 of them in a row. Then slayed a dragon.

6) Shadow of the Dragon is way too hard

no. it isn’t.

Why did they add keg brawl to the activity rotation, effeftively making a game that was available 24/7 only available one day a week? These are the hot topics man. Tyria demands an answer.

I think that was because nobody was playing it (or not enough) and same with the rest of the activities, so they made all of them rotate so they would never be empty.

Dear lord………………

if you think these are the most urgent problems GW2 has you need some reality checks.

If i wouldn’t know better i would say this is a perfect A-Net answer.

People: we want contend. A-Net:
We agree, we will work on a wardrobe.

People: We want more skills and more game play.
A-Net: We totally agree… this armor clipping must be fixed

People: There is nothing beside farming and countless repeating
A-Net: We see this is a huge problem. Soon we will deliver a hair make over kit.

You should send your papers to A-Net they will hire you instantly

First of all, I didn’t say these are the most urgent, I said that they are frequently asked.

Living Story IS content. it is. there is no denying that. When a new LS chapter comes out it takes me about 2 hours to get through it. If you don’t care about the story then of course its gonna take you 20 minutes, but if you can speed run a new dungeon in 10 minutes, that doesn’t make it only 10 minutes worth of content. It takes 2 hours the first time through, and then a bunch more hours when i am replaying it for achievements and on my alts for loot.

Not only do they add LS missions, but they have also added megabosses and Dry Top. I bet you don’t like dry top. But if they make a raid and you don’t like it, that doesn’t make it not content. A new map with a bunch of new events is the same as WoW adding a new map with a bunch of new quests. Its content.

Players all really wanted a wardrobe, so they made one. Players are asking for clipping fixes. How long do you think the hair makeover kit took to develop? The hair makeover kit isn’t the reason that the game has a lot of farming

While I do agree those aren’t exactly the more urgent problems of the game, the wardrobe system (or something very close to it) at least was a very frequently requested feature, and IMHO it is one of the things Anet did very good in the game.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

This, so much this. I think most of those people aren’t even active players… I think the only reason they come here is to complain… I sometimes wonder if ANet shouldn’t implement a policy that prevents people from posting on the forums if they haven’t logged-in to the game in 6 months. Sure you’d be hurting people who want to honestly return to GW2 and have real questions. But on the other hand it would also lock out a lot of the pitchfork and torch wielding crowd…

So all they’d have to do is log on once every six months? That’s not a lot of effort if they are really determined to storm the castle.

I suppose it would lock out anyone who has uninstalled the game.
