I run a minion necro, and I never EVER AFK farm. But, now I can’t even survive there, because my minions get taken out almost immediately. Even when I’m running full tilt, they’re blasted because they don’t know how to dodge or move out of the blast radius.

Please have the artillery take out minions that haven’t moved recently, and turrets, but not active players meat (and bone) shield.

Oh, and scale the hills better to the number of players active in the area. For a farming area, this place is decidedly impossible to farm solo.

I think they forgot how long-term playable their LS zones are when they decided on that one, but you’re right ofc.

It was explicitly implemented as a group farm spot.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

It was originally revealed as:

This release will also include a new, challenging group-farming spot for leather.

… which of course just ended up being more zerg content. If it was actually intended to be challenging for groups, it would have scaled and decimated the zerg. As is, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t just be a normal area.

Farming is by it’s very nature a solo activity? Since when. Why? Farming is to make the best amount of profit with the least amount of effort, if that’s with a group then that’s with a group.

Champion trains are group farms. Karma trains in EotM are group farms.

This! Because of obvious violators people now hate anyone who uses a pet/minion. Since those professions are balanced around you having an AI thing with you as well any character that uses such is winding up at a disadvantage, whether using it as intended or not.

Just swap to thief now and game the system. Open the chest on thief and stay stealthed the entire time doing it.

All this fix did was shift the goalpost.

Well this goes to show that there’s still ingenuity among the AFK farmers: They’re all stacked on top of the entrance gate on the west side. They must have figured out that the bombs don’t land there. It looks even more stupid than it did before the changes.

Well this goes to show that there’s still ingenuity among the AFK farmers: They’re all stacked on top of the entrance gate on the west side. They must have figured out that the bombs don’t land there. It looks even more stupid than it did before the changes.

LOL haven’t seen that, I may have to wander over this afternoon just to check this out. So now they just need a second group on the other gate and it will be business as usual lol.

I don’t farm this but I do love it when folks Nerf the Nerf lol.

The main problem with this “fix” is that it was stated that they wanted to stop players from “AFKing in the centaur stronghold” – what about players who stayed in one spot but were not AFK? Why are they punishing people who are not actually AFK?

This seems more a case of “you’re not playing this content exactly how we want you to” (i.e. “play Anet’s way”). Apparently standing in one spot is not Anet’s way so it’s not allowed.

I have no issues going alone with my necro, I don’t even have blood magic nor death magic, but it’s probably cuz i go with my WvW gear (full trailblazers)
I have no idea why so many ppl on pve complain about the content, it’s never been hard anyways…

Nope. not at all. He’s rekt with the minions o and probably death magic which means more sustain. So it’s his build what makes him squishy.
If it’s about the squishyness of the minion, they are suppossed to be that way otherwise it causes a really big unbalance since minions are far more useful on other situations and game modes compared to the useless turrets.

Exactly.

This could easily be corrected by simply toning down the damage. AFK farmers will still be neutralized, because the turrets and minions will eventually die, although it might take a few minutes.

While I am happy about them finally doing something about the ridiculous spectacle that was the engi farm, this does not fix the problem of afk farming. There are many other spots in other maps where people abuse this system, what is anet going to do create individual solutions for each area? Until they actually changes the mechanics that allow this abuse, it will continue.

Until they actually changes the mechanics that allow this abuse, it will continue.

While you are happy now don’t forget the other professions. Here is a checklist:
- Engi (done)
- Necro
- Ranger
- Guardian
- …

There is so much work to do.
