Any goodies for Thanksgiving tomorrow?
lol
it would be nice to have everyone sended a turkey town outfit as compensation of the horrible november event
Probably not, seeing as Thanksgiving is a very limited area holiday, and it would be rather illogical for them to add a Thanksgiving addition if they don’t have special things for more or less all of these minor real life events.

I guess anet team will be enjoying thanksgiving time with their faimilies (the real families)
Well .. thanks for the reply, but it does make me sad.. that there will be nada to do Oh well.
It would be cool if the Dutch get a Sinterklaas present on the 5th of december.
But sinterklaas is only celebrated in The Netherlands, same thing with thanksgiving which is only celebrated in the USA.

There are so many celebrations over the year and in different nationalities. We cannot expect ALL those to turn into special events in GW2.
There are already some exotic celebrations in GW1 like
- Talk like a pirate day
- Christmas in July
Someone made a comparison of the Dutch arriving in America and Tyrians invading the Lost Shores… So I think us Tyrians have mimicked Thanksgiving in someway.
In GW we had a special treats weekend to coincide with Thanksgiving. Mobs dropped pie and cider but that was pretty much it. Same thing with Easter; the mobs dropped eggs and chocolate rabbits.
They were little things to give a nod to the Holidays, but not obtrusive or shoved down the throats of the people that might not celebrate them.
It would be nice to see something like that in GW2. I’d imagine if they were going to do something along those lines then we would have had an announcement of some sort by now.

Thanksgiving just a yank thing isn’t it? It’s like say why didn’t we get anything bonfire night in the uk.

Hope you had a good turkey day, brother! I always get jealous of the US thanks giving because they get turkey and now I don’t
It’s a bit too American, so I doubt it.

Don’t be jealous man. The turkey tradition was started by the government as a means to get the country lethargic and pacified on tryptophan.
The retail industry helps perpetuate the process because people passing out after directly after an early dinner means they will be up earlier and more energetic…thus more inclined to venture out on black Friday.

it’s a north american holiday based on the story of how pilgrims stole turkeys and popcorn from the native americans, then had a party.
Celebrate by giving each other smallpox!

but in all seriousness, I’d totally dig having worldwide holidays celebrated. Sinterklaas for all!
Q: Why no Thanksgiving?
A: It’s a North American holiday, and this is a worldwide game.
Q: Why aren’t special events designed so people can play them around the world?
A: Well, it is a game made by Americans, you know.
Just two things I’ve seen on the forums that I thought would be fun to place in the same post.
But yeah, if the game is boring because you can’t get pumpkin pie slices as drops one day a year, there’s a bigger issue.
Maybe a new patch?
It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill"
LOL
Regardless of our.. Thanksgiving – I still wanna chase Turkeys around.. hahah J/k
A few level 85 champion turkeys running around that drop handfuls of exotic poultry meat would be a nice touch.

With a new cooking recipe for Roasted Butterball. The only downside is, after you eat Roasted Butterball, your character’s movements get slower and slower until they unbutton their pants and fall asleep watching keg brawl!
Oh-Oh wait! I would like a Juvenile Turkey for my Ranger..

YES YES YES. I would pay for this.
That would be a bit weird because it’s a very specific holiday the rest of the world doesn’t celebrate
all you can get is this :)

Ah, as a mini-pet perhaps, for us non-ranger types?
In most MMO’s they celebrate the holidays of the country the company is based in. Yeah, yeah…NCSoft etal…but ANets offices are in Bellevue Washington.
US Holidays include Thanksgiving, Xmas, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4rth of July…etc…
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see something in game. And, kinda disappointed if I don’t…I’d have to admit.
