Q:
Any hope for the "Thief" Class?
I don’t know about the rest of it, but thief is often lauded as being one of the best professions for WVW roaming.

Because we can’t be angry about both?
Whats a theif? People play those still?
Honestly theif was my first character, but as far as generally everything goes, there is nothing a theif brings that isn’t brought by something else in a better way. I don’t even like mine in pvp anymore….
Mostly true but it’s only because people are ignorant. I cleared the first 2 raid bosses on my thief and I’m starting sabetha tomorrow. Thief has the highest dps when u factor in all offensive support. But like I said people are ignorant to this fact.
As for PvP, thief is indeed in a rough stretch but still absolutely viable. Playing a thief involves more skill which is why people see it as “the worst class.” Play around with the builds and you’ll see which ones work and don’t work.

I agree with everything, i would trade any warrior on raid except phalanx for thief.
PvP same thing, some thief are so good, they can evade 80% of attacks and just jump around whole map. They can do much more though, im just not gonna write about it here, because im not really maining one on pvp.
Thief class is doing well.
Thief is my main and although they are not in a good spot, I still play it regardless. I have everything else geared and max lvl so I just them for things like raids. Pvp is hit and miss, I guess it depends on your MMR. I only play solo unranked q and I am having a lot of fun and able to play with out people sulking because they have a thief on their team.
If you find thief fun to play, then play it and ignore what others say
gw1 – healing signet/frenzy/charge
Yeh thief in PvP is a bit “meh” at the moment, but PvE content is in my opinion the most interesting as a thief, well staff daredevil to be exact. And Thiefs “having no damage” is proper carbage, it’s just that you need skill to be continuously dealing damage, if you can do that there is not really a class that can compare to your damage.
Thief is so 2014.
The new it class is Revenant. Everyone wants a piece of rev.
And you don’t even have to dodge back and forth or stealth yourself, just press 1 and you can literally deal more dps than any other class. Truly elite.
PvP-wise, unless you have thousands of games on a thief you should not even consider playing one – and even if you do, you are still probably better off swapping to revenant.
For PvE and specifically raids thief is serviceable if unspectacular – squishy, middle of the pack damage with no team utility. I’d never seek out a thief for a squad but would not balk at one in a generic DPS role.
If you really enjoy the play pattern then it is worth learning – especially with a long view, as balance changes over time and thief may be a meta defining class again after a couple patches – potentially next spring or summer, perhaps.
I started thief 2-3 weeks ago. It definitely doesn’t pack the punch I thought it would based on what I saw before I took a break from GW2. I was gone a while, and I know a lot of changes been made.
But the playstyle is really fun, and I love the daredevil so much. So I’m sticking with it.
